Looking for a place near Gajeong Station's Luone City area where you can enjoy real pojangmacha (street tent bar) vibes while grilling meat and seafood together? Today I'm sharing my visit to 'Euljiro Yeontan Gui,' the perfect spot to sip drinks while soaking in the nostalgia of charcoal fire.
It's such a great value BBQ spot, and grilling meat and seafood together over charcoal made the whole atmosphere amazing hahaha! Here's my review of Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch❗

Euljiro Yeontan Gui, a BBQ restaurant near Gajeong Station, is just a 5-minute walk from exit 4.

A fish tank at a BBQ restaurant? That's not something you see every day... Apparently since it's September they're also selling grilled jumbo shrimp.

The outdoor tent seating at Euljiro Yeontan Gui, open in the middle
The inside of Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch has a really retro feel. Even the notices taped to the walls had that vintage look.
And they've got this tent-bar seating too~~ the middle is open, giving it that full pojangmacha feel. It's prime outdoor tent season right now, and this is exactly the Luone City tent BBQ spot for it!

There's a kiosk at every table, plus the menu is posted on the wall too. So you can easily see everything at a glance!

While looking around inside I saw this and ordered it on a whim. The review's coming up below. The self-serve corner is also neatly set up.
What we ordered at Euljiro Yeontan Gui and what it cost
- Pork jowl ₩7,900
- Marinated beef short rib ₩9,400
- Gochujang pork belly ₩6,400 (3 servings)
- Grilled scallops ₩12,900 (cheese add +₩2,000)
- Hangover ramyeon ₩4,900

On the grill plate there were bean sprouts and kimchi drizzled with sesame oil, and the basic side dishes were onion salad, lettuce salad, ssamjang (dipping sauce), and mu-saengchae (radish salad).

We ordered one serving each of pork jowl (7.9) and gochujang pork belly (6.4)! Under ₩10,000 a serving, this is a real value BBQ spot near Gajeong Station.

Marinated beef short rib, ₩9,400. It comes out yakiniku-style, thoroughly soaked in marinade.
Grilled scallops, ₩12,900 (+cheese ₩2,000). I added the cheese for ₩2,000 and the portion was insane lol. You get six scallops!

The tent-bar atmosphere was legendary... it wasn't fully outdoors since there was a tent pitched over us, which made it even better.

Charcoal-grilled pork jowl and cheese-topped scallops
Anyone who loves both meat and seafood, gather round. I love both, so of course I loaded up on both.
First I tried the pork jowl, and its distinctively chewy yet savory texture mixed with the charcoal aroma made me gasp with satisfaction.
The scallops piled high with cheese paired perfectly with the garlic marinade, making a great delicacy between bites of meat.

Dipping it in chojang (vinegar chili sauce) like this is pure sweet-and-salty perfection. Who knew a Luone City BBQ place would nail scallops too!

A mid-meal break: hangover ramyeon for 4,900 won
Hangover ramyeon, ₩4,900. You need carbs, right? The ramyeon that came out midway gave us a nice palate cleanser. It had bean sprouts in it too, so the texture was even better.

Marinated beef short rib at 9,400 won: value worth a group dinner
The marinated beef short rib is a must-try at this Luone City BBQ spot, so I gave it a shot and the sweet-salty combo was so good. And beef short rib for under ₩10,000..? Unbelievable value... This would make a great company dinner spot near Gajeong Station too.
Maybe because the mushrooms were charcoal-grilled too, they came out moist and juicy with mushroom broth.

Why the gochujang pork belly is a must-add for charcoal aroma
Someone recommended the gochujang pork belly as a must-try at this Gajeong Station BBQ spot, so I tried it and it was seriously so good. Grilling gochujang pork belly over charcoal really brings out that smoky char flavor.

The charcoal smokiness is no joke. You have to order the gochujang pork belly!

Gochujang pork belly, ₩6,400 (2 servings). It was so good we ordered a second round. We really eat well, don't we haha.
Gochujang pork belly burns quickly, so you need to flip it often! The spicy-sweet marinade soaks in deep rather than just sitting on top, and grilling it until it's lightly charred over the charcoal makes for the perfect soju pairing. I couldn't eat it because I had to drive, but next time I definitely will.

It also paired so well with the onion salad that I couldn't put my chopsticks down even when I was full.
Is Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch worth a visit?
- Taste and menu range: getting to enjoy pork jowl, gochujang pork belly, marinated beef short rib, and cheese-topped scallops together was great
- Atmosphere and mood: the cozy, retro pojangmacha vibe inside makes it a perfect setting for a drink or two
- The tent-seating appeal: the outdoor-style seating really delivers that tent-bar feel, perfect for enjoying Luone City's tent BBQ atmosphere on a cool evening
- The perfect finish: after filling up on meat and seafood, finishing with ramyeon or kalguksu (noodle soup) is a must!
