In short
Sammi-jip is a Korean BBQ restaurant specializing in pot-lid kimchi pork belly, on Cheongnacaneol-ro near Cheongna Lake Park in Seohae, Incheon. On a reserved Friday evening the writer ordered three servings of score-cut kimchi pork belly for ₩51,000, plus jjolmyeon (spicy cold noodles), rice and zero-sugar cola, for a total of ₩61,000, and found the whole pork belly, grilled in the kitchen, juicy and pleasantly chewy. I finally went out for a meal after a while!! On Fridays, grilled meat places definitely draw the crowds. To make the most of a Friday night, Taetae joined the crowd too~~ Here's my review of enjoying pot lid kimchi pork belly at Sammi-jip, a go-to spot near Cheongna Lake Park!

Where is Sammi-jip in Cheongna, and where do you park?

What Sammi-jip looks like from the street

I arrived at Sammi-jip~ The interior looks pretty spacious! This is the back of the building, and there's an entrance here too so you can go in this way.

I walked around to the front entrance. The interior has a bright feel, and the pot lid imagery really stands out~ Parking at Sammi-jip is available near the entrance, with room for about 7 cars~ If needed, they offer parking support at the church next door on weekdays (except weekends), which is convenient. Time to head in!~
Inside Sammi-jip: seating and the self-serve corner

About 4 tables were already occupied. It's mostly set up with 4-person tables, but there were 8-person tables too.

Near the back door there's also space set up for groups.
They give you injeolmi ice cream or a drink if you leave a receipt review!
Since Taetae made a reservation, the table was already set up when we arrived~
There's a separate self-serve corner too, so you can grab extra bean sprouts or kimchi!

Once you order, they cook the meat in the pot lid together with minari (water celery), kimchi, bean sprouts, and mushrooms — I'm so excited already!
Sammi-jip's menu and what three servings cost

There are full-pan and half-pan menu options, plus single meat options! Since Taetae was craving kimchi pork belly done pot-lid style, I went with the pork belly!
Final decision: the thick score-cut whole pork belly!! One serving is 180g~

There's a good variety of side dishes too, though a few of them are a bit pricey.
- Score-cut kimchi pork belly x3 servings ₩51,000
- Jjolmyeon (spicy cold noodles) ₩7,000
- Rice ₩1,000
- Zero-sugar cola ₩2,000
- Total: ₩61,000!
It's convenient since they grill it and bring it out already cooked~~ Now let's wait for it~
How did the pot-lid kimchi pork belly taste?

Ta-da~~ The pork came out fully grilled~ Ordering 3 servings covers about half of the pot lid!

Then they add the kimchi, followed by the rest — bean sprouts, scallions, and minari~ They said to eat it once the vegetables are cooked enough.
Sizzle sizzle~~ The smell of kimchi spread through the air, then as the minari cooked, its aroma blended in too~ Onions and mushrooms went on next~
This is exactly the visual you order pot lid kimchi pork belly for~~~ It's a total feast!!

Once it was cooked enough, I dug in — being whole pork belly, it was full of juices and had this great chewy texture! Eating the pork belly together with all the vegetables cooked in the fat filled my mouth with rich flavor, giving Friday that perfect Friday-night charm!!

Adding rice and jjolmyeon at Sammi-jip
I'd originally planned to hold off on rice, but I ended up ordering it anyway! The combo of whole pork belly, kimchi, and minari was just too good to eat without rice! Ordered it right away ㅠㅠ And added jjolmyeon on top!

The jjolmyeon came out partway through, and I wrapped it up together with the pork belly~!

And on top of it all, injeolmi ice cream from the review event! This was surprisingly delicious? It seemed like injeolmi (rice cake) powder sprinkled over Tuguether ice cream!

Wow! I properly enjoyed juicy pork belly for the first time in a while~~ All those vegetables, side dishes, and extras... Taetae completely cleared the table!
That was my review of properly enjoying pot lid kimchi pork belly at Sammi-jip, a go-to spot near Cheongna Lake Park!
