Seogwipo café for decaf Jeongbang Waterfall lattes: Forest Jeongbang

Relax by the sea near Jeongbang Waterfall

After a delicious black pork meal at Topaegol, I was looking for a café near Jeongbang Waterfall where I could leisurely rest while looking out at the sea during my Seogwipo trip in Jeju—and ended up at Forest Jeongbang!

It is close to the entrance to Jeongbang Waterfall, making it great for planning your travel route, and it is a large, atmospheric café where you can spend time on comfortable sofas with wide-open sea views.

Dedicated parking and an exotic atmosphere

Forest Jeongbang has a well-equipped café-only parking area, so it was very convenient to visit by car or rental car. The parking bays are roomy and the driveway into the café is neatly maintained, so I could park leisurely and head in without any parking stress :)

Even on weekends or at peak times when lots of tourists visit, the spacious parking setup meant there was no real trouble finding a space. It made for a pleasant start to the visit.

Signature lattes and Udo peanut rice cake

That day, I put together a satisfying order of Forest Jeongbang's signature drink lineup and sweet bakery desserts.

The Jeongbang Waterfall latte is normally caffeinated, but when I asked for it decaf, they said, “We’ve never done that before, but we’ll give it a try!” I was sooo grateful.

They even have cute candles.

Wide table spacing and sofas on the main building's second floor

I also looked around the annex, and the overall feeling was one of spaciousness and comfort.

Even among the large cafés I have visited recently, the spacing between tables was exceptionally wide.

I loved that conversations from neighboring tables did not overlap and people’s paths did not get tangled, so I could take a private, comfortable break.

As a great café by Jeongbang Waterfall, it offers ₩1,000 off when you present a Jeongbang Waterfall ticket, and the free drink for children aged 7 and under is great too.

This is the annex, and we sat on the second floor of the main building.

Seogwipo sea views from a window-side sofa

The absolute best part of the interior furniture was the soft, plush sofa seating! I could not photograph it at first because other guests were there, but if there is a window-side sofa seat, you absolutely have to try it. My feet and legs were quite tired from traveling around, and as soon as I sank into this super-comfortable sofa that felt like it was wrapping around me, it felt as though my fatigue was slowly melting away.

Beyond the windows, there is an ocean view of Seogwipo’s refreshing sea. However, it is not a view where Jeongbang Waterfall itself is clearly visible from the window! Rather than visiting to admire the waterfall’s stream, I recommend thinking of it as an ocean-view café where you can take in the lush forest around Jeongbang Waterfall along with the cozy Seogwipo sea.

How the Jeongbang Waterfall latte and Udo peanut menu tasted

The blue drink at the front is the signature Jeongbang Waterfall latte, named after the café! Its appearance, reminiscent of the blue sea or forest, immediately caught my eye.

The coffee flavor came through richly, while an intense sweetness lingered across my mouth, showing off all the appeal you would expect from a signature drink.

The moment I bit into the cake, the savory flavor of Udo peanuts gently spread through my mouth. There used to be a snack called Kook Hee Sand—it felt like an incredibly upgraded version of that..?

The Udo peanut latte first brushed the tip of my nose with the distinctive rich, nutty scent of Udo peanuts, then its sweet, smooth house peanut cream warmly enveloped my mouth!

If your legs are tired after visiting Jeongbang Waterfall during a Seogwipo trip and you want to sit comfortably with a rich signature latte and cake, I recommend stopping by Forest Jeongbang. The owner was so kind too, which made it even better. That’s the end of my review.
