Jeju cafe near Sangumburi: tangerine-topped mango bingsu at Lala Cafe
In short
Lala Cafe is a bingsu (shaved ice) cafe in Samdasu Village, Gyorae-ri, Jocheon-eup, on Jeju Island. A couple ordered the apple mango bingsu for two, made with apple mangoes from Seogwipo Theme Farm and served with tangerine fillets, so one bowl delivered two flavors. Lala Cafe sits five minutes from the Ecoland entrance on the drive to Sangumburi and has a large parking lot, making it an easy stop even for new drivers.

Jeju apple mango bingsu café, Jeju apple mango bingsu spot. My review of Lala Cafe in Jocheon.

You know how when you're traveling around Jeju, you absolutely need a café somewhere in the middle to refuel on sugar, right?

This time I went to Lala Cafe in Jocheon, and it's genuinely worth recommending as a Jeju apple mango bingsu spot, so I put together this write-up. If you love mango, definitely check this place. I'll go in order: location/parking, mango bingsu, other menu items, and who I'd recommend it to.
Where is Lala Cafe, and how easy is parking?
Lala Cafe is near Samdasu Village in Gyorae-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju City. It's 5 minutes by car from the Ecoland entrance and 3 minutes from Surprise Theme Park.

The currently hot Snoopy Land and Ghibli Studio are also nearby, so it's a good stop on the way to either.

It's along the route connecting Sangumburi, the Samdasu forest trail, and the Stone Culture Park, so it fits perfectly into a travel route. It's also a nice rest stop when crossing from Seogwipo to Jeju City.

Lala Cafe opening hours
Open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, so it's easy to stop by before or after a sightseeing route.

Parking at Lala Cafe
The parking lot is really spacious. Even people who get anxious about parking can pull in comfortably — I liked that a lot.

If you're a new driver, this kind of thing is surprisingly stressful, but here there was nothing to worry about.
Since it's in the middle of Samdasu Village, the surroundings are quiet and the sunlight comes in nicely, so it also suits anyone looking for an aesthetic café good for photos.
Apple mango bingsu at Lala Cafe: five-star hotel quality
We ordered the famous apple mango bingsu for two. I heard Lala Cafe's mango is Seogwipo Theme Farm apple mango, the same kind supplied to 5-star hotels in Seoul, and it was genuinely, insanely delicious.

It's super sweet but melts in your mouth. According to my boyfriend, who's obsessed with mango, it's on par with mangoes he's had in Southeast Asia haha.

They pile a generous amount of house-made mango sauce and fresh mango on top of finely shaved ice, so one spoonful and the sweetness spreads all through your mouth.

It's clearly a different tier from imported mango.

Tangerine fillets make it two flavors in one bowl
But here's the point that sets it apart from a regular mango bingsu!!! The mango is piled so thick on top that I worried once it was gone, only plain ice would be left and it'd get boring.

But the tangerine fillets served alongside bring a whole different sweetness, so after finishing the mango, it felt like eating a completely different condensed-milk-and-tangerine bingsu.

You basically get two flavors in one bowl, so we never got tired of it and cleaned the whole thing up.
Beyond bingsu: Fritz coffee and Jeju fig campagne
Lala Cafe is known for its coffee and bread as well as bingsu. For coffee, they reportedly use Fritz beans, one of the top-rated roasters even in Seoul.

It's balanced — neither light nor heavy — with a gentle acidity and a lingering chocolate note afterward, making it a perfect drink after visiting Ecoland or the Samdasu forest trail.

The fig campagne (a rustic sourdough-style bread) is also popular — they say they don't pre-make the dough, and only serve loaves they knead by hand and bake fresh that same day.
It's crispy outside, soft inside, with the sweetness of Jeju-grown figs added in, and apparently plenty of people come back just for this bread?!

We only had bingsu and drinks since we didn't have much time before evening, but people say the coffee and bread combo is great together, so next time I'm planning to try the bread too.
Who should visit Lala Cafe?
- Anyone who wants to properly enjoy apple mango bingsu in Jeju
- Anyone looking for a café near Ecoland or Sangumburi
- Anyone looking for an aesthetic café to rest at during a drive
The mango quality is solid, so if you like bingsu, you'll be satisfied. Parking is spacious and it fits easily into a travel route, so it's an easy, no-pressure stop. In autumn it's also great to come see the silver grass at Sangumburi and grab a bowl of bingsu afterward — definitely worth a visit!
