What kind of place is Jejju Donghong Branch?

Jejju Donghong Branch is a premium lunchbox and anju (drinking snack) takeout spot at 58-8 Donghong-jungang-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju. I went looking for a proper takeout lunchbox to eat in Jeju, and this place was appealing because one box lets you try so many different foods. If you're planning to take yours back to your accommodation like I did, this post is for you!!

While looking for something delicious and convenient to eat back at the hotel during my Jeju trip, I found this place — apparently known around Jeju for its salmon and octopus!!

I didn't make a reservation, just walked in and ordered. There were already customers eating inside the store. It really seemed like a great spot to stop by for lunch or dinner.

Jejju Donghong Branch menu and prices

This premium Seogwipo lunchbox spot has plenty of menu items made with seafood you can only get fresh in Jeju, beyond the signature Jejju Anju Samchongsa — salmon sashimi, a solo anju set, assorted sushi, an octopus set, and more! I couldn't believe you could get such a convenient lunchbox in Jeju!! I was already excited before even walking in.

Inside the shop and seating

Inside Jejju Donghong Branch there are also tables so you can dine in, and the place was really spotless! The tables were spaced generously apart and the whole store was so clean — you could tell right away how carefully the owner manages it!

Jejju Anju Samchongsa (24,800 won) plus fried shrimp (5,800 won)

What I ordered was the Jejju Anju Samchongsa for ₩24,800 and fried shrimp for ₩5,800! The lighter sushi options also caught my eye!!

The Jejju Anju Samchongsa comes with 10 pieces of salmon + fried fish + 2 pieces of fried shrimp + 3 pieces of salmon sushi + 2 pieces of shrimp sushi — a really solid lineup that works as a full meal or as drinking snacks! By the way, they're running a receipt review event too, worth joining!!

Jejju has friendly prices, which is why it's been designated a Good Price Store 💓. For the portion size, the price really is friendly.

How long is the takeout wait at Jejju?

It took about 10 minutes from ordering to getting my takeout, and it came out quickly! Since it's made to order, a bit of a wait is necessary!!

How the platter tasted back at the room

Ta-da, the biggest advantage is that one lunchbox has so many different foods you can taste all at once 👍🏻. And the portion is genuinely huge for the price — I think eating it alone would leave you seriously full.

I did add some mackerel sashimi on the side…!! And the salmon quality was great, so if you love salmon, you really have to try this! It was sliced thick rather than thin, which made for a great texture.

Being able to eat salmon, sushi, and fried food all in one go was great for me since I love trying a bit of everything! There's also a neat little serving of salad and yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi) tucked in one corner, perfect for picking at bite by bite haha.

Did the fried shrimp stay crispy after packing?

What was especially good was the fried fish and fried shrimp — even after taking it all the way back to the hotel, the crunch was still alive and I kept reaching for more!! You can tell from the photos how crispy it looks!

Adding the fried shrimp was such a good call on my part 👍🏻 Definitely add the fried shrimp too 🙏🏻

Who should order takeout from Jejju Donghong Branch

It's nice to eat at the store, but these dishes travel just as well, so if you want to enjoy a simple lunchbox back at your accommodation during your Jeju trip, I'd definitely recommend takeout from Jejju Donghong Branch!! The owner is also so.very kind!! Jeju is the best 💓 Next time I'd like to try the assorted sushi or the octopus set too 🫶🏻
