Children's Grand Park Station ramen with gyoza and tamago: Mentsuru

In short

Mentsuru Children's Grand Park Branch is a late-night ramen restaurant in Gwangjin, Seoul, one minute from Exit 4 of Children's Grand Park Station. The order was shoyu ramen and spicy shoyu ramen with gyoza (pan-fried dumplings), plus an added tamago (soft-boiled egg) because the bowls were so good, and the bar seats look straight onto the noodles being boiled. Mentsuru works just as easily for a daytime lunch as for a late-night bowl after 10pm.

Mentsuru Children's Grand Park Branch is just a minute's walk from Exit 4 of Children's Grand Park Station, so it's super convenient to get to since it's right by the station haha. A ramen place open late at night is kind of unusual, right? I thought it'd be perfect for a late-night snack too ❤️

Bowl of soy-sauce-based shoyu ramen

The shoyu ramen had a clean soy-sauce-based broth and chewy noodles, and it was delicious — the chashu (braised pork slices) was thin and mild, pairing so well with the soft egg!

Bowl of spicy shoyu ramen with a kick

The spicy shoyu ramen had a bit of heat added to the shoyu base, not too spicy, so you could enjoy it with a nice kick.

It was so good that we added a tamago egg!!

Crispy pan-fried gyoza at Mentsuru

The gyoza was so crispy and mild, and really delicious too. It was a great lunch near Children's Grand Park, and also a nice simple meal option. I liked it so much that I visited again at night, after 10pm, and the staff were so kind and the food so good that I'm planning to go back again.
