I was looking for somewhere to have a drink with my friend before going out in Itaewon, and this is where we ended up! This time, I visited Yahwa Honsul Bar Seoul Itaewon Branch!
It calls itself a solo-drinking bar, but it did not feel awkward at all to visit with a friend. If anything, it was perfect for a light drink before a night out in Itaewon like we were doing, haha. Yahwa Honsul Bar Seoul Itaewon Branch is also fairly close to Exit 1 of Itaewon Station.
A more exciting atmosphere than expected
The staff were kind from the moment we walked in, so the visit got off to a lovely start.
And my personal favorite thing was the music, hahaha. Songs that people our age would love kept coming on. They were all from that peak K-pop era, so my friend and I kept going, “Wow, this song is playing?!” and getting more and more excited, haha. The playlist somehow made the drinks go down even easier... For an Itaewon bar, it really brought back the memories.

Thoughtful notices for solo drinkers
One fun little thing at Yahwa: the annoying-neighbor alert, haha. Since it is a solo-drinking bar, something uncomfortable could happen with the person beside you, so I thought it was both kind of cute and thoughtful that they had considered even that.
When we ordered cocktails, they also gave us hangover relief medicine. Little things like this are surprisingly touching, hahaha. Such thoughtful preparation before you even start drinking.
They also do ideal-type matching. Ooh... True to a solo-drinking bar, there were ways to naturally mingle with new people. Even just sitting with my friend and watching this was quietly fun, haha. Fortune favors the bold when it comes to finding your ideal type~!
Take the 45% Yahwa signature cocktail slowly
We ordered the Yahwa and Dohwa signature cocktails. The staff member asked whether I would be okay with Yahwa being 45%, and...
For this girl who can drink well, of course, why not~~~ But seriously, be careful. It tasted so good that I kept taking little sips, then suddenly I was a little tipsy, hahaha. As expected, 45% is a scary number from the number alone...
Great for a first stop or a breather in Itaewon
Personally, if you are planning to go out in Itaewon, it could be nice to start here and then move somewhere else! Or, if you have already been out for a while and your feet hurt and you are tired, it would be nice to sit down for a cocktail and take a break, haha. It was great for chatting over drinks with a friend, and it was not one of those overly quiet Itaewon bars, so it was good for gently lifting the energy too, haha. People kept coming in while we were there as well. I guess a hot Itaewon spot really is a hot spot, hahaha.
My Yahwa Honsul Bar visit with a friend
The staff were kind, the playlist was great, and I think it was even more fun because I went with a friend! Especially when songs by Davichi and SeeYa from that era came on, we kept getting excited while reminiscing together, hahaha. And once again: Yahwa is 45%. I ordered it without thinking and got a little tipsy, but if you are looking for a different kind of bar to visit with friends in Itaewon, Yahwa Honsul Bar could be worth stopping by. Next time, I will take that 45% a little more slowly... hahaha.
