Suyeong bar for Sapporo beer and tebasaki: Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2

A Japanese-style standing bar, newly found in Gwangalli

Ganppa Beer is already famous in Gwangalli for its draft beer! It is also well known as a great Gwangalli spot for drinking alone. When I heard a second location had opened, Nureongi, a total draft-beer killer, rushed over and came away very satisfied haha.

First of all, the staff were so kind. I had originally planned to stop by the first location, you know? But it had been full since Tuesday. So I decided to go-go-go to Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2, the newly opened Gwangalli bar for a second round.

From the entrance onward, Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 had a cool space for pouring draft beer and a retro Japanese-style atmosphere! As you would expect from a popular Gwangalli place, there were quite a few people there—from international visitors to couples, group-work-dinner guests, and solo drinkers!

A menu and ordering setup where beer alone is fine

They have their signature Sapporo draft beer, as well as Yebisu draft beer! There are easy snacks and set menus too. And if you are full, you can drink without ordering food! It seems perfect for a second or third stop when you are already full and only want drinks, but the food is tasty and there are plenty of simple options, so Nureongi recommends trying at least one snack!!

There were international visitors when I went in too, so they have a menu for them like this. I recommend visiting diligently before it gets so trendy that you cannot get in... (Though it is already trendy now.. ^_ㅠ..)

Each table comes with wooden chopsticks, a guestbook, and colored marker pens for writing in it haha.

Sapporo draft beer that went down so creamy

First up was the Sapporo draft beer, which arrived as soon as we ordered! You can feel how creamy the foam is even in the photo, right?? Haha. It tasted exactly like the beer I had locally! It went down so smoothly that I could have downed a whole glass before the food even arrived... 😚😚

They say a draft beer is truly perfect when it leaves lots of angel rings! I drank it gulp after gulp, and the angel rings were so clear that I felt oddly proud of myself for finding such a good Gwangalli second-stop bar haha.

Ganppa special tebasaki that tasted like Honey Combo

I also ordered Ganppa special tebasaki (Japanese-style chicken wings)! Four pieces plus a cabbage salad for ₩9,900—isn't that such great value...??

I had heard this place’s tebasaki was the real deal, so I was so curious and took a bite... Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, it tasted like Honey Combo! And since it was freshly fried rather than ordered for delivery, there was just no way it could not be delicious.... ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Naturally, I added another beer? The beer went down so easily that, if I had come here as my first stop, I could easily have had five glasses. (Showing off.)

A guestbook that keeps waiting time from getting boring

There was also this cute guestbook at the table haha. It seemed like a place to jot down a visit review or something that happened during your day! I read through bits of it and wrote a page myself! Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 seems like a perfectly nice place to drink alone too. Looking through the guestbook while waiting makes time disappear like boneless fried chicken~~

I did not sit by the wall, so I did not know at first, but it turns out you can write on the wall with Post-its too! I really loved the retro atmosphere haha. It was my first time at a tachinomi (Japanese standing bar), and the food came out faster than expected, was fresh, and was great, so Nureongi is 100% willing to return.

From solo drinks to groups, a second stop near Gwangalli Beach

Ganppa Beer Gwangalli 2 is a Gwangalli bar that is great for solo drinking, dates, and groups! It seems it is already known as a hot spot among international visitors too, because there were lots of them haha. I visited late on a weekday, but the first location already required waiting! It is close to Gwangalli Beach and easy to get to, so I recommend stopping in for a cool draft beer as a second round before heading back to your accommodation!
