Why I chose gray root coverage and a cut instead of a perm
As my hair grew longer, it felt heavy overall and kept looking limp. Wearing it down felt stifling, and I was tired of tying it up every day, so I debated getting a perm or coloring it first.

But when I looked closely in the mirror, I saw that a lot of gray hair had grown in at the roots. I put off the perm for the time being and had gray root coverage and a cut at Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch (예움헤어 노원구청점), a hair salon near Nowon Station.
Was the salon comfortable, and is parking available?
When I entered, it felt more spacious and pleasant than I expected. It was bright overall, with plenty of space between the seats, so I felt comfortable from the first impression.

The space was neatly organized, and the staff greeted me warmly. It was my first visit, but I did not feel awkward; it was not busy or chaotic, so I did not feel stifled even while sitting for a long time.

Parking is also available. I tend to consider parking availability important when I go to a hair salon, so I thought this was useful to know.

They checked in with me throughout the service to make sure I was comfortable, which helped me relax. I also liked that they listened to my concerns first, checked the condition of my hair, and then decided on the direction of the service.

Did a cut alone change my heavy, limp hair?
Before my visit, my hair was quite long and the weight was concentrated at the ends, making it look limp overall. I thought that in this condition, I would need a perm to bring the shape back to life.

I told the senior designer in charge that I thought I needed a perm. After examining my hair, they said that simply removing some weight with a cut could make enough of a difference first. I liked that they focused on what I needed at that point rather than recommending more services.

Even though I did not take off much length, removing the heavy sections made my hair look noticeably lighter. The limp side lines came back to life and fell naturally alongside my face, so it felt different even without a perm.

When I looked at it again after getting home, the cut was what I liked most about this appointment.

Did the gray root coverage blend with my existing hair color?
After coloring my hair repeatedly for a while, my existing hair color had become uneven in places, and quite a lot of gray hair had grown in at the roots.

I do not like a clear line between the root-colored area and my existing hair color. This time, the gray hair was well covered and the color blended naturally into the previously colored sections, which I liked.

The areas that had looked patchy in places also looked more even than before. With the gray hair and color differences tidied up, my hair felt neater overall.
Was I happy with choosing not to get a perm?
When I looked in the mirror after the appointment, I thought it would be fine not to get a perm this time. Just tidying up the long, heavy sections with a cut brought the shape back more effectively than I expected.

The gray hair was covered and my hair color looked naturally more even, so this amount of change felt just right for me.

I also thought that getting a perm might have added more damage to my hair. Since a weight-removing cut helped in my case, if your hair has grown long and feels limp, it may be worth asking during your consultation about tidying it up with a cut.

I was satisfied with the naturally blended gray root coverage and the lighter-looking shape I got without a perm. On my way out after getting my hair done, I found myself looking in the mirror once more.
