What was my hair like before the magic setting perm?

After getting a treatment at a new salon I found after moving, I felt nervous about going to another salon. My hair is naturally wavy, so I usually get straightening and perms, but it had also become difficult to manage after my previous treatment.

When I had straightening done at another salon last December, my hair started to curl again the very next day, and the cut was uneven too. I had it redone, but this time my roots developed a kink. Having my hair straightened twice also damaged it, and I felt stressed whenever I looked at my hair for about eight months.

In a photo a friend took a month before the treatment, I could see a bent-looking boundary in the middle of my hair, so I thought it was time to have it fixed again. Parking was listed as free for the first 30 minutes, then ₩1,000 per additional 15 minutes. I would recommend using a public parking lot. The salon interior was tidy, and the staff greeted me warmly when I arrived.

What style did I request for naturally wavy hair?

I could not describe the style in great detail. I asked for the newly grown wavy sections to be straightened and for C or CS curls from the mid-lengths to the ends.

Since I had my hair cut a month earlier, they simply evened out the length before the perm.

They then applied the solution evenly to suit the style and I waited.

Was the salon comfortable while I waited?

Sitting on the second floor and looking outside made the wait feel less boring. I brought my laptop, but I actually spent the time on my phone.

They brought me coffee and cookies while I waited. The cookie was good, and they checked in from time to time to see whether I needed anything.

The shampoo room was also tidy and comfortable. They gave me a scalp massage while washing my hair.

How did the curls and hair feel right after the treatment?

The process took about three hours from start to finish. While blow-drying my hair, they carefully explained how to style it. The finished waves were neither too thick nor too tight, and were close to the shape I wanted.

I also liked how natural the perm looked in the photo taken from behind. However, the heavily layered sections from my previous salon were still there.

Right after the treatment, my hair felt softer rather than more damaged. I was happy with both the shape of the curls and how my hair felt to the touch.

I also received a hair treatment as a gift. It felt softer than conditioner when I used it. Still, until I left the salon, I was unsure whether the curls would hold after washing my hair at home.

Did the curls hold after a week?

The method I was shown was to twist my hair around my fingers while blow-drying it. I found that cumbersome, so I quickly dried only my scalp before leaving, but the curls were still defined a week later.

I had been very worried because of my previous salon experience, but I felt reassured when the curls still held after simply drying my hair at home. I was glad I got my perm at Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch.
