I went to Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch and honestly, right off the bat — this place was truly next-level. I've run a blog and been to a genuinely huge number of good restaurants, but this one ranks among the very best. Looking at the photos again makes me want to go back right now... (drooling)

The menu

When a marinated-meat person and a plain-meat person go together
At Raviok, this Yeoksam Station favorite, we ordered 2 servings of Ravi marinated grilled beef and 1 serving of plain grilled beef. I'm normally a marinated-meat person who prefers seasoned beef, while my companion was a plain-meat person who likes to enjoy the natural flavor of the beef. Our tastes are pretty clearly split, so deciding on a menu is usually a struggle — but here, ordering both meant we could each be fully satisfied with our own choice.

How the Ravi marinated grilled beef tastes
The Ravi marinated grilled beef wasn't overly sweet or heavy on seasoning, which actually let the meat's own flavor shine through more. The marinade was moist and well-soaked in, but the meat itself was so tender that one bite in, an exclamation just slipped out. Next-level tenderness...! Paired with garlic or sauce, it was one of those bewitching flavors you can't stop eating.

The plain grilled beef and the tableside grilling service
The plain grilled beef, with no marinade, lets you enjoy the beef's natural juiciness and texture — and this too was truly legendary. You could see the juiciness even in photos, but in person it's even more savory and the texture is even more tender.
I'm clearly a marinated-meat person, but I was so won over by the plain-ness of the plain grilled beef that I kept stealing bites off my companion's plate. Having a staff member grill the meat directly on the pan and cut it into easy bites for us was genuinely so convenient. Grilling vegetables like garlic scapes and mushrooms together with the meat made for an amazing combination too. You could feel the subtle charcoal smokiness deepening the flavor of the beef.

The final course: doenjang rice with sool and kalguksu
For the meal-finishing menu at Raviok, this Yeoksam Station favorite, we chose doenjang rice with sool (mud snails) and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup). The doenjang rice in particular was packed absolutely full of mud snails, and the chewy texture was insane.

Honestly, at this quality level I thought I could probably even forgive the owner for being rude (???), but the staff were genuinely kind too, so I stayed in a good mood the whole meal. The kalguksu also came loaded with clams, so the broth was refreshingly clean and the noodles were generous. Filling up on meat and finishing with warm broth made for a perfect course.

There was also quiet fun in picking every last bit of meat off the bone with each bite. I was thinking, how did I only just find out about this place — it had been a while since eating meat made me swear I'd absolutely be back. Because... it's genuinely that good, haha.

So what should you order
If you're torn between marinated and plain grilled meat, I recommend not forcing yourself to pick just one and instead ordering both, like we did. Whatever you order, the meat is so tender that you can't really go wrong. From the glossy look of the ribs to the staff grilling it right in front of you to that final moment of getting the char, it was a thoroughly satisfying meal from start to finish. If you're looking for a can't-miss Korean BBQ restaurant near Yeoksam, Raviok really does seem like a choice you won't regret.
And one last thing — the little touch of having mouthwash, floss, and hand cream in the restroom. I really loved that.

If you're looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant near Yeoksam Station, I think you absolutely have to go here... you'll experience a real tsunami of satisfaction.
