Gangnam Korean BBQ restaurant for family meals: Raviok Yeoksam
In short
Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Yeoksam Station in Gangnam, Seoul. We tried staff-grilled snowflake beef ribs, Ravi Soup, and galbi seaweed soup, plus refilled the salads. Verdict: an easy pick for a relaxed family meal, gathering, or meal with a dog.

Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch: location and hours

I was looking for a good meat place around Yeoksam Station and ended up visiting Raviok this time, yep yep.

This place participates in Matdongyeojido, a food-guide program, and is also recognized for using good-quality meat, haha. Seeing things like that gets my expectations up for no reason.
Parking can be a little confusing on your first visit, but the space between Ipilnyeo Gukbap and Traga beside the building is the parking area. We drove too, and it was handy to park right near the restaurant.

Wood interiors and family-meal conveniences
Inside, there is lots of wood, so it feels a little upscale. But it is not overly heavy or formal—it is just comfortably nice for a meal, which I liked, yep yep.

You can see food being prepared in the restaurant, which was fun to watch, and the country-of-origin labels on the wall were all carefully displayed.

The basic table setting was super neat, too.

They have high chairs, and there are clothes hangers throughout the restaurant, so it looked good for families. When you eat meat, you worry about your clothes picking up the smell, so having somewhere separate to hang them was really convenient.
Ordering snowflake beef ribs and soups
The menu at Raviok, a meat restaurant near Yeoksam Station

The menu is on paper, with a slightly retro feel that was cute, haha. It quietly suits the restaurant interior too.
Raviok's meat is said to be a little different from the LA galbi (Korean-style grilled beef short ribs) we usually know. They trim and use only the flower-rib section from beef rib numbers 6, 7, and 8, so the texture is much more tender!

- Galbi seaweed soup ₩13,000
- Ravi Soup ₩10,000

Before the meat even arrived, the full spread of side dishes came out—and it was more elaborate than I expected, haha.
There were salads, kimchi, and all kinds of things that go well with meat, along with a variety of sauces. It was great for changing up the combination with every bite.

Unexpectedly, I got hooked on the tuna salad and regular olive salad here, haha. I kept picking at them before the meat even came out and ended up getting two or three refills, hehe. The tuna salad was nutty and soft, while the olive salad was refreshing—perfect to have alongside everything in between bites.

And finally, the snowflake prime beef rib roast arrived. It comes lightly pre-grilled, so it looked appetizing right from the start, hehe.
Ravi Soup
Ravi Soup ₩10,000
Ravi Soup came out too. The broth is clear, but that does not mean it tastes light—the flavor is quite rich. There was more galbi than expected, plus plenty of glass noodles, so it seemed surprisingly filling even on its own, hehe. The rib meat was tender and easy to eat, and a spoonful of hot broth followed by a bite of meat was such a good combination. It would make a fine meal, but it would be especially great to order on a night you are drinking, yep yep.
Galbi seaweed soup

We ordered the galbi seaweed soup because my boyfriend said he had been wanting seaweed soup for a while~ It had plenty of finely chopped meat, and the tender galbi made it easy to slurp up with the seaweed. The seaweed aroma was pronounced, followed by a gentle nutty scent of sesame oil. Mix it with rice and it feels like a proper full meal, haha.
How the staff-grilled flower ribs tasted
The meat is grilled on a hot iron plate, yep yep. Best of all, the staff provide the grilling service themselves. We just got to sit there and watch the meat cook beautifully, haha. Since we did not have to grill it ourselves, it was nice to relax and chat while eating.
In the middle of grilling, flames suddenly shot up right in front of us—they even gave us a little fire show, which startled me, hahaha. It was more spectacular than I expected, so naturally I ended up filming it. The grilling itself was something to watch, so waiting was not boring.

I took one bite of the perfectly cooked meat and wow, it was unbelievably tender, haha.
When you chew it, the juices come out moistly and that nutty flavor spreads right through your mouth. It was soft without any tough bits—like it just disappears in your mouth. There was no off smell at all, and the meat's naturally rich flavor was strong enough that it was delicious plain.

I tried all sorts of sauces, but my number-one pick was the garlic sauce, yep yep. It was slightly sweet with a garlicky aroma, and it went so well with the prime ribs. After one dip, I think I ate almost everything with the garlic sauce, haha.
How it was for family gatherings and dining with dogs
After trying everything, I could see why they call themselves an LA flower-rib specialist. The staff were kind, and because they grilled the meat themselves from start to finish, all we had to do was eat comfortably—which was even better, haha. The atmosphere was upscale but cozy, so it would be lovely for a date, bringing your parents, or treating someone. It did not have that overly loud Korean BBQ restaurant feeling, so it was nice to eat slowly and talk, hehe.
And dogs are welcome here too, haha. As soon as I learned that, I thought I should bring Kuna next time, haha. It is not actually that easy to find a meat restaurant in Gangnam where you can go with your dog, so I was happy about that.
We tried everything from the meat to the side dishes and soups, and I was satisfied overall. What stayed with me most was the flower ribs being grilled right in front of us. If you normally like LA galbi, this is a place worth trying at least once, yep yep. The atmosphere was comfortable, the meat was tender, and the staff were kind, so I left feeling happy in every way. Strongly recommended if you have a gathering in Gangnam~
