Snow-flake galbi with fire-show grilling and bibim kalguksu: Raviok
In short
Raviok Yeoksam Main Branch is a hanok-style Korean BBQ restaurant near Yeoksam Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Two friends shared snow-flake jingalbi (thick-cut LA-style short rib) roast and seasoned ribs grilled tableside with a fire show, plus spicy bibim kalguksu (mixed knife-cut noodles) instead of naengmyeon. The meat was tender and the sauces weren't too strong, making it a good fit for both work dinners and dates.

I went to Raviok, a well-known spot in Yeoksam-dong, for dinner with a friend. It's a 6-minute walk from Yeoksam Station Exit 6. The space between the neighboring Lee Pilnyeo Gukbap and Traga buildings is Raviok's own parking lot, so parking was easy. And if there's no spot, they said you can just call the restaurant and they'll help you out.
Hanok-style interior and group seating

Since it's a standalone building, the seating inside felt spacious and roomy, which makes it great for group gatherings. There are a lot of offices nearby too, so I'd definitely recommend Raviok to anyone looking for a work dinner spot near Yeoksam Station. The hanok-inspired interior has a lot of character too, and the atmosphere is nice for a glass of wine, so it'd work really well for a date as well.

Further inside, there's a large group section too — apparently it seats anywhere from 9 up to 20 people.
By dinnertime the place was completely full. If you're planning to visit, you can book through Naver Reservation or Catch Table, so make sure to reserve ahead so you don't end up turned away.

The open kitchen looked really clean :)

The side dishes were well chosen to pair with the meat.
Raviok's menu

Raviok's signature menu near Yeoksam Station includes Ravi roast ribs, Ravi seasoned ribs, snow-flake jingalbi roast, and snow-flake jingalbi seasoned ribs. Apparently Raviok uses only the 6th, 7th, and 8th rib bones from top-grade LA-style short ribs! They also sell lunch specials and set meals, so if you're stuck on what to eat for lunch at work, it's worth checking out.

There were also side dishes and drinks — bottled beer, soju, draft beer, highballs, and wine.
Snow-flake jingalbi roast, first-grilled ribs finished with a fire show
Since I wanted to taste the meat's natural flavor, I ordered the snow-flake jingalbi roast for two, and also added the Ravi seasoned ribs since I wanted some seasoned meat too.

Once you order the meat, they set up the grill for you.

The meat comes pre-grilled once; after it's cut on the grill, they do a fire show to remove any gamey smell and add flavor.

The fire show was fun to watch and quite a visual treat.

Raviok, a beef spot in Yeoksam-dong, uses top-grade LA-style short ribs, and maybe that's why the meat was genuinely so tender.

The wasabi, garlic scape, and lettuce salad combo
I wanted to taste the jingalbi roast on its own, so I tried it with just a bit of wasabi on top — the sharp bite cut right through the richness, and the more I chewed, the more rich juice came out. It was really delicious.

It went well with garlic scapes too.
But honestly, the lettuce salad was so good that I ended up eating most of my jingalbi wrapped with it.

I only ordered one cola, but they brought two cups of ice in pretty glasses anyway — little touches like that just put me in a good mood.

How was the Ravi seasoned ribs?
The extra order of Ravi seasoned ribs also came pre-grilled.
They grilled it up even more deliciously with another dramatic fire show.

The meat was really tender and delicious. I liked it even more because the seasoning sauce wasn't too strong.

Spicy bibim kalguksu instead of naengmyeon
Whenever I go to a Korean BBQ place I always have to have naengmyeon (cold noodles), but Raviok only had kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) varieties instead. My friend doesn't really like kalguksu, but since there was no other option, we ordered the spicy bibim kalguksu (mixed spicy noodles).

My friend ended up saying the noodles were thin and the sauce was so good, and finished it all — I felt strangely proud, haha :)

Noodle dishes really need to be eaten alongside meat, right? We had it with the Ravi seasoned ribs, and the tender ribs paired so well with the bibim kalguksu.
Wrap-up
The meat itself was delicious, but the staff also explained how to eat it while they grilled, and that kind of friendly service made the whole meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is great and the seating is spacious, making it a solid choice for group work dinners, and thanks to the distinct hanok feel, it would also make for a really satisfying date spot. If you're looking for a good restaurant near Yeoksam Station, definitely give Raviok a try!
