Seomyeon fried chicken and dakdoritang combo for two: Yetnal Tongdak &
In short
Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch is a chicken restaurant in Busanjin, Busan, serving both fried chicken and dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew) on one table. Visiting on a weekday evening for two, we ordered the sunsal-and-tang set with boneless fried chicken and dakdoritang, and the broth was spicy but manageable even for a spice wimp. It's the spot that solves the fried-chicken-or-dakdoritang dilemma with a single order.

If you're in Seomyeon craving both fried chicken and dakdoritang, there's a spot where you can enjoy both at once :) This time I visited Yetnal Tongdak & Tang, a well-known chicken restaurant in Seomyeon!
Yetnal Tongdak & Tang in Seomyeon, any wait on a weekday evening?

We visited on a weekday evening as a party of two, and luckily got seated right away with no wait. The location is easy to find right in central Seomyeon, so it's also convenient if you're meeting someone there.

Once inside, the seating was comfortable, so it was a relaxed dinner for the two of us 😊

Sunsal-and-tang, a great pick for two
As the name suggests, Tongdak & Tang lets you enjoy both fried chicken and stew menus together. After some deliberation, we went with the sunsal-and-tang 🍗 Since there were two of us, rather than each ordering a separate dish, we preferred something that let us try a few things together :) The sunsal-and-tang lets you eat dakdoritang and boneless fried chicken at once, which worked well for a two-person visit!
I especially liked that you get the crispy texture of the chicken plus the warm broth of the dakdoritang, so it felt less repetitive and more varied than sticking to one dish. If you're ever torn between fried chicken and dakdoritang in Seomyeon, ordering this solves both cravings at once :)

After ordering, the basic side dishes came out simple — crackers, cabbage, and pickled radish, a combo you can't skip when eating chicken haha

The dakdoritang lineup and spice level
After a short wait, the dakdoritang portion of our sunsal-and-tang arrived!
Look how packed the dakdoritang is 🤤 rice cake, glass noodles, scallion, onion, and fresh chicken,,!

Turns out the owner uses Harim chicken 😲 You could really taste the freshness when eating it.

The broth had a spicy kick, but it wasn't as hot as I expected.

Even someone like me who can't handle spicy food could eat it without much trouble, so it's worth trying even if you're a spice wimp.

The glass noodles especially soaked up the broth well, and eating them together with the dakdoritang broth was delicious.

How the boneless fried chicken paired with the broth
And then the boneless fried chicken that came with it! The outside was super crispy, and it went really well with the spicy dakdoritang broth.
It's delicious even on its own, but dipping it in the sweet sauce gave it a whole different flavor to enjoy.

Crispy chicken with sweet sauce — that combo never fails haha

Win the dalgona game, get fried gizzards
There was one more fun thing about Tongdak & Tang — the nostalgic dalgona (honeycomb candy) game. If you successfully carve out the shape, you get fried gizzards! 👍
With a little event like this to try while waiting for the food, it added some extra fun :)
In summary
What I especially liked about this visit to Tongdak & Tang in Seomyeon was being able to eat crispy boneless fried chicken and spicy dakdoritang together ❣️ The dakdoritang wasn't too spicy and was loaded with rice cake, glass noodles, and quail eggs for a hearty meal, and the crispy texture of the boneless chicken made it a perfect match with the stew 🤤
Above all, the seating was comfortable and the location easy to reach in Seomyeon, making it a great spot for a relaxed dinner and conversation. If you want to eat fried chicken and dakdoritang together in Seomyeon, the sunsal-and-tang at Tongdak & Tang is definitely worth trying :)
