Seomyeon chicken restaurant for draft beer: Yetnal Tongdak & Tang
In short
Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch is a chicken restaurant and bar in Busanjin, Busan. We had the half melon and half-order boneless fried chicken set with draft beer, and the crisp chicken, sweet chilled melon, and clean-tasting beer were a satisfying match. Verdict: an easy choice for dinner drinks or a casual second round.

Today, I’m introducing a spot in Seomyeon that is easy to drop by when you’re craving chicken. Prices have gone up so much lately that even going out for drinks in Seomyeon can feel a little burdensome, right? But I can never give up crispy, salty whole chicken with a cold beer!
The place I visited today was Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch (옛날통닭앤탕 서면점), a Seomyeon drinking spot known among those in the know for dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew), with both good value and great taste. Along with beautifully golden fried chicken, its spicy dakdoritang was spot-on, making it a really satisfying place both for a first round with dinner and for a light second stop. If you’re looking for a cold draft-beer spot for a second round in Jeonpo-dong, pay attention!

They fry up Korean Harim chicken just right! I really dislike chicken with lots of fatty bits, so I was happy this wasn’t like that.
Hours and parking
It is open Monday through Sunday from 17:30 until 05:30 the following day, and there is no on-site parking.
Inside the restaurant and little things to enjoy

It is famous for fried and boneless chicken, so it is perfect for anyone looking for old-style fried chicken in Bujeon-dong. It is also ideal if you are looking for a Seomyeon bar with a spicy soupy dish!

Other tables were having the tteoksuni set, too! Aprons are available, so you can put one on and eat comfortably.

This is a place that insists on using only Korean Harim chicken!!! I’m not a fan of Brazilian chicken, so I can eat here with confidence.

Pens are provided so you can leave fun little notes and doodles on memo paper along one wall.
The half melon and boneless fried chicken set we ordered

We ordered the half melon + half-order boneless fried chicken set. We added cold draft beer, too!

At Yetnal Tongdak & Tang in Bujeon-dong, they serve fruit as a drinking snack like this. The melon was such a pretty pale green from the color alone—it looked refreshing and crisp.

They set out the melon before the chicken arrived, so it was perfect for sweetly rehydrating while we waited. Cheers to melon!

The basic snacks are al-saeu chips (shrimp-flavored crackers) and chicken radish pickles.

They also show baseball games on TV. The cabbage salad was refreshing, too.
The melon quality was more than adequate—it was really good. It was cold and sweet, very juicy, and incredibly fresh. Such great quality, right?

Just as we were finishing the melon, the chicken finally came out!!

Crispy boneless chicken and draft beer
The golden boneless chicken arrived! It was crispy and warm, and the bite-size pieces were so delicious. There was absolutely no stale oil smell; it tasted fresh. Naturally, I got excited thinking about chicken and beer.

We only ordered a half portion, but it was surprisingly generous! It comes with seasoned sauce and salt as well. The sauce is the typical sweet-and-spicy seasoned fried chicken sauce.

It is so good when you dip it like this. Since they insist on using only 100% Korean Harim chicken, I could eat without worrying about the chicken quality.
From spicy dakdoritang to crispy chicken and refreshing fruit snacks, this place has everything for a perfect second round. We ordered a half portion and it was just right; if you have a big appetite, I recommend ordering a whole chicken! The old-style fried chicken in Bujeon-dong is so delicious that you will clear it in no time.

The beer was cold and generous, so I highly recommend it as a Jeonpo-dong draft-beer bar for a second round. We had Asahi beer at our first stop, but I personally prefer draft beer. It has less bitterness at the finish and tastes cold and clean. Other tables seemed to order a lot of dakdoritang. It is a great Seomyeon dakdoritang spot that even foreign visitors often stop by to seek out a Korean flavor.
