Uiseong garlic beef ribs & pork belly set at Grill the Terrace

A Korean BBQ recommendation near Dongtan North Plaza — my honest review of the Uiseong garlic beef ribs and pork belly, plus the vibe.

I went to Dongtan North Plaza today, to Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch, which is famous for its beef around here!! I'd walked past it many times and always thought the exterior looked clean and inviting, so I finally wanted to check it out. In this post I'll honestly go through the weekend atmosphere, the dishes I actually tried, and my recommendations!

The exterior and 3 hours of free parking

Grill the Terrace sits on the ground floor of the Megabox building at Dongtan North Plaza! I'd passed by so many times, and the clean, pretty exterior always made me want to go — haha.

Parking is free for 3 hours! That's plenty of time for a meal, right?! The lot is shared with Megabox, but it's apparently easy to find a spot anyway. If not, the public parking lot outside North Plaza also gives 1.5 hours free!!

There's a big menu board right before you walk in — haha. I liked being able to check the menu outside before going in. Already got me excited~~!!

Inside the restaurant and the vibe — good for group dinners?

Such a lush, green interior, right?! The space inside is quite large, so it seemed perfect for a group dinner too! There are also partitions between tables, so eating felt comfortable and private — haha.

Isn't this spot enviable..haha. It's a folding-door area, and it looked like those doors actually open. They were closed the day I went, but the weather's been so nice lately — open the doors and eat, and it'd totally feel like outdoor dining.

The plants hanging from the ceiling were really well arranged, and flowers filled every corner — you could tell the owner has a real eye for interiors, haha. There were quite a few photo-worthy spots too. Korean BBQ places these days are really clean and nice.

Isn't this such a thoughtful touch! For those coming to eat beef with kids, they've got blocks, books, toys and more set up....!! I don't even have a kid and I was still touched. Such a nice gesture.

What we ordered and how much

We ordered the Uiseong garlic assorted set 600g (₩47,000), dessert mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles, ₩4,000), an Earl Grey lime highball (₩8,000), and a beer (₩6,000)!

Side dishes are self-serve refill

First, the side dishes came out in a row~ Everything looked delicious at a glance, right?! ㅎㅎㅎ I personally love myeongyi-namul (wild garlic chive greens), so I love any place that serves it with the meat.

A whole bunch of other side dishes came out too. Getting excited before the meat even arrives~~ You can grab more side dishes from the self-serve bar.

Earl Grey lime highball and beer

Then came the Earl Grey lime highball (₩8,000) and beer (₩6,000) — haha. I've been cutting back on drinking lately, but one glass is fine, right?! (It's not.) The Earl Grey highball is on the sweet side, so I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a sweeter highball!

Uiseong garlic assorted set 600g (₩47,000). Ugh... today's main character... Doesn't it look gorgeous? Order the Uiseong garlic set and you get both beef ribs and pork belly — fun to compare the two as you eat.

Look at all that garlic piled on top..ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Being Uiseong garlic, the smell really hit hard. A flavor no Korean could dislike.

Dessert mul-naengmyeon (₩4,000). And!! As a naengmyeon fanatic, the dessert cold noodles I always order came out ㅋㅋㅋ I really, really, really love wrapping the meat in naengmyeon...

How it's grilled, and how it tasted

They start by grilling the pork belly golden brown~~ It really was delicious with all that fat. Once grilled, the garlic aroma got even stronger — haha. From this point on I just ate in silence...

The heat is strong, so it cooks fast! I was worried the marinade would burn, but look how nicely golden-brown it turned out.

I dipped the pork belly in sauce.. and wrapped it in naengmyeon... (my favorite)

The beef ribs can be eaten in all sorts of combos too — sauce, whole grain mustard with pickled radish, myeongyi-namul, and more. That's exactly how it never stops going in ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

The portion is pretty generous... so I started slowing down. I loved that there was so much of it. The staff kept checking on the grill fire too, and were super kind.

The last four pieces... it's ending, and I already feel wistful.

On the way out, there were xylitol gum and Hello Kitty vitamins(?) at the counter. After a meat meal your mouth feels heavy, so that little touch was so thoughtful,,, a satisfying meal right to the end!!

Would I go back? Final thoughts

Today I visited Grill the Terrace, famous for its beef near Dongtan North Plaza! The weather's been so nice lately. I'd love to come back again when I can enjoy that outdoor-dining feel~! The garlic sauce was so delicious, the meat was fresh, and it felt great for coming with kids or for a group dinner — haha. If you're nearby, definitely stop by~~
