In short

Fix Chicken Dongtan Central Park Branch is a chicken restaurant near Dongtan Central Park in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. I tried the Fix Chicken and Ganpama half-and-half, with thin crispy fried chicken, soy chicken with scallions and garlic, and a spacious hall with a huge screen. A great spot for freshly fried chicken and chimaek.

The place I visited was Fix Chicken Dongtan Central Park Branch (픽스치킨 동탄센트럴파크점) in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. It is close to Dongtan Central Park, so it was in a nice spot to drop by after eating or taking a walk nearby.

When looking for chicken around here, you naturally end up searching for good restaurants near Dongtan Central Park or Gaenari Park. If you are looking for somewhere easygoing to have chicken and a beer, this one is worth noticing.

There is space for about four cars directly in front of the restaurant. If it is full, I heard you can use a nearby open lot or the parking tower right across the street. Do keep in mind that the parking tower is paid, not free. Still, the parking in front was better than I expected, so I was not too worried about parking.

A spacious hall with a huge screen

Once I went inside, the space was much bigger than I had expected. And the first thing that caught my eye was the huge screen! A giant screen in a chicken restaurant really changes the atmosphere.

Rather than somewhere you simply eat chicken and leave, it seemed like a great place to have a beer with friends while watching a game. The space also works well for groups, so I think it would suit people looking for a place for all kinds of get-togethers or a good restaurant near Dongtan Central Park.

Wouldn't it be fun to cheer together over chimaek (chicken and beer) here on a football or baseball game day? Haha. So if you are looking around Gaenari Park for a chicken place where a group can sit comfortably, I recommend this one, haha.

Ordering the Fix Chicken and Ganpama half-and-half

You order on a tablet! When I got home, I realized I had not taken a photo of the tablet, so I brought a screenshot instead, haha. Why is choosing a menu at a chicken restaurant always so hard? Fried chicken, seasoned chicken, soy chicken... After thinking it over for quite a while, I ordered half-and-half chicken that day.

The combination I chose was Fix Chicken + Ganpama! Ganpama sounds delicious just from the name, right? Haha. It is soy sauce chicken with scallions and garlic, and it really is a combination Koreans cannot help but love. The savory-salty, slightly sweet flavor of soy sauce plus the aroma of scallions and garlic made it the kind of chicken you keep reaching for.

I also tried the fried chicken, which you could call Fix Chicken's basic menu, and this was actually the part that surprised me a little. I'll explain why below~ haha.

Tteokbokki and snacks before the chicken

Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and snacks before the chicken! There was another little bit of fun here, too. They brought out complimentary tteokbokki and snacks before the chicken arrived, haha.

It took about 10 minutes from ordering for the chicken to come out, but eating tteokbokki while waiting made the time fly. More than anything, the tteokbokki went really well with beer. While waiting for chicken, I had a beer, picked up a piece of tteokbokki, then a snack...

Since they seem to cook it as soon as you order, there was a little wait before the chicken came out. But I actually liked that it arrived freshly fried and piping hot.

Freshly fried half-and-half chicken spread

Fried chicken with a thin, crispy coating

Honestly, I did not know Fix Chicken very well before visiting that day, haha. But after one bite of the fried chicken, I went, “Oh? What is this?” The coating is incredibly thin and crispy. It is not thick and hard; it shatters with a light crispness, so the texture was great from the first bite. And it really had that crispy-outside, juicy-inside quality I love.

Thin, crispy fried chicken

You have to eat chicken when it has just come out, right? The outside was crispy, while the chicken inside was moist, with hardly any dry texture. I also liked that because the coating was not thick, it did not leave a greasy feeling in my mouth for long afterward.

Sometimes after a few pieces of chicken, you start to get tired of it, but for some reason I kept reaching for more that day. So if, like me, you love the combination of a crispy coating and clean-tasting chicken, I think you will be quite satisfied.

Ganpama with scallion and garlic aroma

The Ganpama in the half-and-half order was tasty, too. It starts with the salty, slightly sweet flavor of soy sauce seasoning, then scallion and garlic aroma is added on top, so the flavor really comes alive. I especially liked that the garlic did not hit too aggressively, but instead helped bring out the chicken's savory flavor.

While the fried chicken was crispy and clean-tasting, Ganpama had a richer, fuller flavor! Alternating between the two meant I did not get tired of either. A piece of fried chicken, then Ganpama, then fried chicken again—it was quietly a very good combination, haha.

Personally, if you are visiting Fix Chicken Dongtan Central Park Branch for the first time, I think ordering half-and-half to try two flavors together would be a good choice.

Chicken with sauces, salad, and pickled radish

Seasoned sauce and salt also come separately with the chicken. The fried chicken is crispy and clean-tasting on its own, but a light dip in salt makes the chicken's nutty flavor stand out more clearly. Add the seasoned sauce, and you can enjoy it like seasoned chicken, too.

I also liked that salad came with it! And the pickled radish here was so good! I even went to the self-service bar for a refill.^^ Haha, the salad and radish felt like little resets between bites, haha.

Freshly fried rice cakes

Another thing I quietly loved was the freshly fried tteok (rice cakes)! I went expecting to eat only chicken, but I thoroughly enjoyed the rice cakes too. They were lightly crispy outside and chewy inside, making them perfect to pick at between pieces of chicken.

Especially if you love rice cakes, I think it would be hard to pass these by. The chewy tteok texture with the chicken's crispness was surprisingly nice^^

A great place for chimaek while watching a game

These days, chicken easily makes you think of delivery or takeout first. But eating here in person, it was even tastier because it was hot and fresh~ With a spacious restaurant and a huge screen, it seemed ideal for several people to visit together and have chimaek while watching a game.

So among people looking for good food near Gaenari Park, I think it would suit those who want more than simply eating chicken—those who want to chat with friends and spend time over a beer. It also looked good for group gatherings or office workers looking for a good restaurant near Dongtan Central Park. I would like to come back with friends on a sports game day and properly enjoy some chimaek. Heh.

If you are looking near Dongtan Central Park or Gaenari Park for somewhere to enjoy crispy fried chicken and cold beer, this is worth remembering. In particular, if you need a good restaurant near Dongtan Central Park for several people or a group gathering, the spacious hall with its huge screen is an advantage. Even those who, like me, did not know the place at first might fall for this chicken restaurant more than expected after one try! That day, I properly discovered the joy of chimaek, haha.
