Hwaseong Korean BBQ after work with garlic ribs: Grill the Terrace

In short

Grill the Terrace is a charcoal-grilled meat restaurant in Dongtan Bukgwangjang, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. After work, I visited with my child for 600g of Uiseong garlic assorted meat, potato beef hangover soup, and pork ribs. Verdict: a roomy, family-friendly spot for garlicky grilled meat.

A meat restaurant on the first floor of the Megabox building in Dongtan Bukgwangjang

I got off work and went to Grill the Terrace, a great beef spot in Dongtan Bukgwangjang, with my little one!

I used to work part-time across the street, and every time I passed by, the exterior looked so upscale that I always wanted to try it!! As a rib lover, I looked forward to it all day, then ran straight here after work haha.

Once inside, the fresh green interior felt neat and pleasant. It was spacious too, so it seemed perfect for company dinners or gatherings! There were partitions here and there, making it easy to eat comfortably haha.

The thoughtful touches were amazing too: they had books and toys ready for children. I think that would be such a touching detail for anyone dining out with kids!

Uiseong garlic assorted meat and a review event

What we ordered that day: Uiseong garlic assorted meat, 600g for ₩47,000; Real Pork Ribs, 3 servings at ₩7,900 per 100g; whole potato beef hangover soup, ₩8,000; and soju, ₩5,000.

They were also running a Naver review event, and it was seriously amazing.

With an order of a main dish or at least three servings: 300g of Real Pork Ribs for ₩11,700, or whole potato beef hangover soup for ₩1,000.

Wow... the value is unreal. You should definitely join the review event!!

The basic side dishes came in such a variety: myeonginamul (pickled wild garlic leaves), seasoned bean sprouts, kimchi, garlic, ssammu (pickled radish wraps), corn salad, onion sauce, and more. There were also three sauces for the meat. I loved being able to choose wasabi, salt, or whole-grain mustard depending on my mood! The sides already looked delicious~~~ The seasoned bean sprouts were quietly the star 🦵🏻 The seasoning had soaked in well, the salt level was just right, and their crisp texture felt fresh. You can get more side dishes at the self-service bar!

Uiseong garlic beef ribs and pork belly

The 600g Uiseong garlic assorted meat set includes pork belly and beef ribs, and wow... the sight of beef ribs piled high with seasoned Uiseong six-clove garlic was incredible!! There was honestly more garlic than I expected, and since it was Uiseong garlic, the aroma was so good. Exactly what Koreans love~!

Maybe because it was grilled over charcoal, the garlic aroma came alive even more haha. As that fragrant garlic scent and nutty meat aroma rose together, I was instantly drooling lol.

I loved the grill too! Since the meat was marinated, it was important to turn it often so it would not burn, but the grill was clearly well maintained and the meat did not stick at all. So nice~

Once all the meat was cooked, we moved it to the edge and tried it piece by piece~!

I tried it with wasabi, salt, and various sauces, but personally, salt was the most delicious! The meat itself was so good that, rather than dipping it in all sorts of things, just a little salt let me enjoy the beef ribs properly.

Whole potato beef hangover soup, perfect with grilled meat

The whole potato beef hangover soup was such a satisfying menu item! It was properly spicy and savory, making it perfect to eat alongside the meat.

Spicy, savory whole potato beef hangover soup

It was generously filled with tender lean beef and ugeoji (dried outer cabbage leaves). Having it with a drink made me feel like I was recovering from the alcohol as I drank lol.

It had a spicy yet deep flavor that cut through the richness of the meat and filled me up nicely! The whole potato was thoroughly cooked and soft, and mashing it together with the beef and ugeoji was so delicious. The kind of flavor that makes your eyes go wide..!

Garlic-loaded pork belly and extra pork ribs

Now it was pork belly's turn! While the beef ribs had an intense, nutty meat flavor as their charm, the pork belly was lighter and cleaner tasting, with a different appeal.

The amount of garlic was amazing again lol.

Beautifully golden pork belly! As the meat cooked, the garlic grilled right alongside it, sending up a lovely savory aroma.

Even though it was marinated, it was not overly sweet or harsh, so I kept reaching for more 🤤 It also went wonderfully wrapped in myeonginamul or ssammu—the meat and fragrant greens were a great match!

We added three servings of Real Pork Ribs! We had already eaten beef ribs, but there was no way we could skip the pork ribs~ It was so funny that two garlic cloves were sitting so cutely on top of the ribs hahaha.

As they turned golden, the sweet-savory scent of the marinade came rushing up.

Even after flipping them, they still did not stick to the grill—just the best!!!

The marinade was so delicious.. As the sweet and salty pork-rib seasoning grilled over charcoal, it took on that smoky char flavor, and I kept reaching for it even though I was full. Eating beef, pork belly, and pork ribs in one meal really felt like enjoying a proper full spread 😊

A full meal of beef ribs, pork belly, and pork ribs

In front of the register, there was even a small thoughtful touch for freshening up after the meal 🥰 Finishing with candy and vitamins made for such a satisfying meal~~ Grill the Terrace, a great beef spot in Dongtan Bukgwangjang, is absolutely going on my revisit list!! If you are looking for good-value beef in Dongtan with a great atmosphere, or planning a company dinner, family meal, or gathering, I recommend its pork belly and beef ribs~~
