Back when we were dating, we used to meet up in the morning and spend hours at brunch places. I honestly don't know how long it's been since we last visited a brunch café since having two kids. Being here brought back all those old memories — such a small pleasure, but time really does fly.

Like Like Ilsan Juyeop Branch is located at 134 Juyeop-ro, 1st floor, Unit 109, Sidae Plaza, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Hours are 8:30 AM to 10:00 PM, with last order at 9:00 PM.

It's near Juyeop Station, so it's easy to get to. It also opens at 8:30 in the morning, which makes it great for breakfast. Just note that Monday hours are different.

Parking at Like Like Juyeop

Parking is available in the building. We walked over since it's near our place. It's also not too far from Ilsan Lake Park, so it seems like a good plan to park here, eat, and then take a stroll around the lake afterward. Once the weather warms up and parking near the lake park gets tricky, this could be the perfect alternative.

Do you need a reservation, or is there a wait?

We came around 2 PM and were surprised to see 4–5 tables already occupied. There were a few solo diners too.

We ordered the egg Benedict set and one kimchi bacon pilaf.

Our first kid was at daycare, so we came during a short afternoon off, just the two of us haha. Feels like we're finally getting a bit of breathing room. Eunjae looking a bit grumpy here.

The egg Benedict at Like Like Juyeop comes with fresh vegetables and bacon layered inside ciabatta bread, topped with a perfectly cooked egg. Egg Benedict is basically the signature brunch dish, so there was no way we weren't ordering it.

The potato cream soup came as the set side, and honestly it's what made the meal feel really filling. Thick and rich — it was delicious.

Kimchi bacon pilaf: how big is the portion?

Since I'm a fan of Korean food, I ordered the rice dish haha. I didn't expect much, but the kimchi fried rice was just as good as any you'd find at a proper Korean diner — it filled me right up. If you're a guy who needs a bit more food, I'd recommend this.

A brunch restaurant in Goyang that welcomes dogs

Dog-friendly café

Unusually, Like Like Juyeop allows dogs inside. They even have a well-prepared dog set menu — maybe the owner has a dog too, haha. It actually would have added even more charm if there'd been a resident dog in the shop. We didn't see one on the way in, but on our way out we spotted another customer coming in with their dog.

Is Like Like Juyeop worth a visit?

  • I'd come back with 20000% certainty.
  • Brunch places are rare near the lake park or Juyeop Station, so this would be genuinely useful if you're looking for one.
  • According to my wife, moms often come here together after dropping their kids off at daycare (she's been here a few times herself).
  • It was a small but happy time, getting to feel some ease with my wife after a long while.

As the kids get older, we'll probably have more time like this — but that also means less time left with them while they're still little, which made for a bittersweet kind of day.
