Seongsu Korean BBQ pork set and draft beer for 3: Seongsu Teojeon
In short
Seongsu Teojeon Ttukseom Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant on Wangsimni-ro 4-ga-gil in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, serving pork belly aged for 250 hours. Three friends met up over wedding invitations and ordered the 550g Teojeon popular set of pork belly and pork neck plus one extra serving of pork belly, with three glasses of Kirin draft beer each. Between the salt-and-fresh-wasabi combination and the kimchi fried rice cooked on the griddle, Seongsu Teojeon works for a group where nobody is a picky eater.

Today I visited a Ttukseom favorite, Seongsu Teojeon Ttukseom Main Branch, known for its delicious pork belly. I'm still deep in wedding-invitation meetup season... meeting friends, coworkers, everyone. Pork belly is definitely the kind of dish nobody dislikes, so I headed to Seongsu Teojeon Main Branch, a Ttukseom pork belly favorite.

A Ttukseom favorite — Seongsu Teojeon Ttukseom Main Branch, with delicious pork belly

Seongsu-dong has a lot of semi-basement buildings, so places listed as "1st floor" often actually feel more like 1.5 floors. Seongsu Teojeon is the same way. You have to climb some stairs, but sitting by the window on that half-level felt open and bright, which I liked.

Inside Seongsu Teojeon: atmosphere and seating
The inside of Seongsu Teojeon Ttukseom Main Branch is clean and fairly spacious. There are lots of tables — the window seats on the other side were completely full so I couldn't get a photo, haha.

Banchan and dipping sauces served with the pork
The banchan (side dishes) at Seongsu Teojeon are also clean and simple. Since I'm not big on wrapping meat in lettuce, I prefer having lots of sauces to go with the meat instead. There's galchi sokjeot, garlic salted shrimp sauce, wasabi, salt, ssamjang, plus green onion kimchi and baek-kimchi (white kimchi), so you can enjoy the pork belly in a bunch of different ways.

The 550g pork belly and pork neck set: enough for three?
We ordered the pork belly+pork neck Teojeon popular set. I chose it because it's Seongsu Teojeon's signature menu, letting you try both pork belly and pork neck aged over 250 hours at once! There were three of us, and 550g turned out to be just the right amount for three people ><

While the meat is grilling, make sure to check the tips for eating it well and grilling it right. I actually tried all 5 methods myself 😆 There's definitely a reason the recommended combo is recommended.

Kirin draft beer: three glasses per person
And then we ordered Kirin draft beer... if they have Kirin draft, you have to order it 😆 Today's main culprit behind the rising bill, lol. The foam-to-beer ratio was perfect. Everyone who came drank at least 3 glasses, lol. You can't have delicious food without beer 🤣

They grilled the vegetables together with the meat too. It looked like there might be a lot of fat, but pork belly needs some fat to be tasty, haha. The pork neck looked thick and delicious too — my mouth is watering just thinking about it, haha.

The meat sizzled away, cooking nicely. Staff checked in and flipped it for us periodically, which made it easy to eat.

Best sauce combination for Seongsu Teojeon's pork belly
The bite-sized pieces of pork belly were tried with several sauces, and personally I found a little salt plus a little fresh wasabi to be the tastiest — the garlic salted shrimp sauce was great too! A hint of garlic aroma with the shrimp sauce rounding out the seasoning made for a good combination.

Extra pork belly and kimchi fried rice on the griddle
550g clearly wasn't a small amount, but maybe because it was so good... we somehow wanted more, so we ordered an extra serving of pork belly. There were three of us but it was so tasty we ordered more, lol. They swapped the griddle plate once and grilled it fresh.

You can't have meat without a side dish... I'm not the only one who thinks that, right??? So we ordered the fried kimchi rice on the griddle too! It's surprisingly spicy. With bacon mixed in it's savory, and the spiciness of the kimchi cleans your palate perfectly! 👍🏻
Who should book Seongsu Teojeon Ttukseom Main Branch?
✔️Seongsu Teojeon, a Ttukseom favorite with delicious pork belly! With 250-hour aged pork belly and pork neck plus a variety of grilled vegetables, it was great to pick and choose. On top of that, the ice-cold Kirin draft beer paired perfectly with the meat 🥰 It's great for group meetups, and since it's near Ttukseom / Seoul Forest, it's also perfect for a date.
