I went looking for proper hanwoo (Korean beef) in Hapjeong, and landed here — Eutteum Aged Hanwoo Hapjeong Branch. This time I ordered the Hanwoo Special Set, which lets you try several cuts at once, and paired it with hanwoo ugeoji haejangguk and yukhoe bibimbap as rice dishes. Hapjeong has so many good restaurants that picking a spot to eat is never easy. This time I visited Eutteum Aged Hanwoo Hapjeong Branch to properly enjoy hanwoo. As a hanwoo specialty restaurant built around meat-centered meals, I think it's a great choice for family dinners, meals with friends, or important gatherings.

The interior is a cozy, compact size! Since staff grill the meat for you, there's no need to get up and move around, so it's a nice atmosphere for chatting while you eat. (Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but places like this feel really nice these days.)

Hanwoo tends to be a pricier menu, so it's the kind of thing you go for on a special day or when you want a proper meal — and this time it was to celebrate my parents' birthday. If you're visiting with several people, ordering the Hanwoo Special Set and adding a rice dish seemed like a solid combination. (Of course, we also ordered the hangover soup along with the basic grilled cuts.)

Hanwoo is a menu that's most exciting fresh off the grill :) As soon as the meat hit the pan and turned golden brown, I dug in without hesitation.

Delicious, and insanely tender. You'll know exactly what I mean when it melts in your mouth.

Especially when you order several cuts together, each one has a different texture and flavor, so there's also the fun of comparing them one by one. If you love hanwoo, it's worth exploring cut by cut to find your favorite.

Hanwoo ugeoji haejangguk (beef and napa cabbage hangover soup)

As a rice dish that's essential alongside grilled meat, we ordered the hanwoo ugeoji haejangguk. It was a great way to finish a hearty meal with rice after eating hanwoo. (Father and son who both love guk-bap, haha.) I personally feel much more satisfied when soup and rice are part of the meal rather than just eating meat continuously, so if you're planning to order a rice dish alongside meat, this hangover soup is a great option.

Yukhoe bibimbap, ₩11,000

And since we came to a hanwoo specialty restaurant, yukhoe bibimbap was a must. It's a dish where you mix yukhoe, rice, and a variety of vegetables together, so it let me enjoy hanwoo in a completely different way from grilling. If you're visiting with a group, ordering one yukhoe bibimbap to share seems like a good idea!
