Today I visited Extra Mile, a Western-style restaurant in Gwangalli, Busan. It's got a great atmosphere and I'd recommend it as a Gwangalli date spot. Let me write it up in detail!
What's on the menu at Extra Mile?

Let me start by introducing the menu at Extra Mile in Gwangalli.
You could feel the care put into this Gwangalli restaurant just from the menu board — the main ingredients for each dish were listed, so even unfamiliar-sounding menu items were easy to order with confidence.
Extra Mile is known as a pizza spot in Gwangalli. There are only four pizzas — Hot Honey Pepperoni, Birria Taco, Potato, and Salad — and none of the styles overlap. Seeing such a focused, deliberate menu, you could really feel the pizza expertise of this Gwangalli restaurant.
You can't have pizza without pasta, and there were four kinds: white ragu, peanut butter, tomato, and bisque cream.

There were two sides available — romesco with grilled vegetables, and house salad — both vegetable-forward, so they looked light and easy to share.
If you're ordering both pizza and pasta at Extra Mile, I'd recommend the good-value set menus.

For three people: the 2-person set plus one side
There are two set options — a 2-person set with one pizza and one pasta, and a hearty 3-4 person set with one pizza, two pastas, and one side — both cheaper than ordering everything à la carte.
I visited with two friends, so we ordered the 2-person set plus one extra side. None of us eat that much, so this combination was just right. We got the pizza as a Hot Honey Pepperoni and Birria Taco half-and-half, the pasta as Bisque Cream, and the side as House Salad!

There were crayons on the table, and I noticed a simple coloring sheet placed under the plates. It made waiting for the food much less boring.
This seems like something kids especially would love, so if you're looking for a Gwangalli lunch spot to visit with children, Extra Mile might be worth a try.
Half-and-half pizza, starting with the dough

My half-and-half pizza arrived.
True to its reputation as a Gwangalli pizza spot, the dough itself is special — it's slow-fermented at low temperature for 48 hours, giving a crispy outside and chewy inside. On top of that, they use Caputo flour, a premium Italian flour, to make a dough with a rich, nutty flavor. I enjoyed every bit of this pizza, right down to the edge of the crust.

Hot Honey Pepperoni
First, Extra Mile's Hot Honey Pepperoni pizza is a sweet-and-spicy pizza topped with spicy pepperoni, pickled peppers, sweet hot honey sauce, and mascarpone and ricotta cheeses that soften the heat.
It was clean and not greasy at all, and even I — someone who's not great with spice — enjoyed it. It has a more elevated flavor than a typical pepperoni pizza, so if you usually like pepperoni pizza, it's worth trying this one to compare!

Birria Taco pizza — don't skip the cilantro
Next up is the Birria Taco pizza. True to its name, it was piled high with taco-style toppings — beef, cilantro salsa, and sour cream.
You can ask to have the cilantro left out, but personally I'd recommend keeping it and eating it as is. I'm not a fan of cilantro either, but on this pizza its flavor doesn't stand out too much — it blends well with the other ingredients, so even cilantro-averse people can enjoy it fully.
Both flavors I ordered are pizzas you don't often get to try elsewhere, so if you're looking for a distinctive Gwangalli pizza spot, Extra Mile is worth a visit.
Bisque cream pasta with gamtae

Next is the bisque cream pasta. It came topped with plump shrimp, gamtae (dried seaweed flakes), and Reggiano cheese.

This was my first time seeing gamtae on a pasta. The staff said not to mix it into the sauce but to eat it as a topping instead — layered on top of the pasta, it amplified the briny, oceanic flavor.

The sauce itself is a rich bisque made from red shrimp, which will hit the spot for anyone who loves seafood.
At this Gwangalli restaurant, the pasta sauces are all made from scratch, with no premade products — and with such high-quality ingredients and care put in, satisfaction was high. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great pasta spot in Gwangalli!
How was the added house salad?

Last up is the house salad we ordered as a side.
It's made with crisp butterhead lettuce topped with ranch dressing, bacon, and nuts — a salad that pairs really well with Western dishes.

The ranch sauce was especially savory, and with nuts and crispy bacon on top it was an explosion of nutty flavor. The variety of textures made it a surprisingly satisfying dish, salad or not.
This new Gwangalli restaurant was opened by the team behind Free Will Pizza and Pickles and Upper East Bakery, already well-established spots in Jeonpo-dong, Busan — and you could really taste the quality in the food. I'd recommend it as a Gwangalli favorite.
A renovated house, and the service

Extra Mile in Gwangalli is a restaurant with a warm atmosphere, set in a renovated house. It's a great Western restaurant to visit during a Gwangalli date.

If you visit for lunch, warm sunlight streams into the restaurant and the atmosphere is lovely — I'd also recommend it as a Gwangalli lunch spot.

The kitchen is open-plan and kept very clean.
Something I noticed while eating — the staff at Extra Mile were genuinely kind. Not just the floor staff, but the kitchen staff too were polite and friendly when interacting with customers. The service quality was high, and it made for a pleasant meal at this Gwangalli restaurant.
Location and parking info
Extra Mile, this Western restaurant in Gwangalli, is located in an alley just off the main Gwangalli street. Compared to the beachfront, it's in a quieter area, so you get a relaxed, calm atmosphere. There are lots of places to visit and cafés nearby after your meal, so I'd recommend it for a Gwangalli date.
By subway, Line 2 Gwangan Station Exit 5 gets you there quickly, and by bus, the Gwangalli Ipgu or Gwangalli Beach stops are close by. With both bus and subway nearby, it's easy to visit using public transportation.

Note that there's no parking available, so you'll need to use a nearby paid parking lot!

That was Extra Mile, a Western restaurant in Gwangalli with a great atmosphere for a date. Food, ambiance, and service were all solid — a great place to visit with someone special. If you're looking for a great Gwangalli date spot with a good atmosphere, or a distinctive pizza and pasta restaurant, I'd recommend Extra Mile.
