Why an hour and a half early in Gangnam led to Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon

I ended up getting to Gangnam about an hour and a half early for a meetup, so I went looking for somewhere to kill time. Since I always end up on my laptop whenever I go to a café, I was looking for somewhere comfortable to work — and decided on Selecto Coffee, a 24-hour café near Sinnonhyeon Station!! Not only is it open around the clock, it also has a study zone, a variety of seating, and even an unmanned print zone, so it turned out to be a pretty great place to spend the time!

It's about 200m from Exit 1 of Sinnonhyeon Station, so it's a quick walk from the station. Above all, the store itself is huge, so it catches your eye from far away!

Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon is a 24-hour "24 Auto Brew" store — staffed during the day and switching to unmanned operation late at night.

It also runs an unmanned print zone and a study zone, and sells bakery items and salads too. A go-to bakery spot near Sinnonhyeon Station 👍🏻

Inside Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon: solo seats, sofas and group tables

Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon is really spacious inside, with an equally wide range of seating. There are solo seats, a study zone, 4-person tables, sofa seats, and group seats, so it seemed comfortable whether you're coming alone or with a group. The floor-to-ceiling windows keep it from feeling cramped, and there's such a variety of seating prepared.

There's a separate study zone set up further inside. A great space for people doing solo study or laptop work! Just note that the study zone has a 2-hour usage limit.

Personally, I really liked these solo seats. The perfect spot to pop open a laptop and get to work. The wifi was strong too, so it was great for handling simple tasks or work.

With everything from sofa seats to group seats, you can pick a spot based on why you're visiting. There were people there for all kinds of reasons — from solo laptop users to people studying or working — haha.

Can you print documents at Selecto Coffee? The unmanned print zone

And this unmanned print zone was pretty surprising! Being able to print at a café would be really useful if you suddenly need to print out documents or materials. With the 24-hour setup, the study space, and the print zone all combined, it feels like this place is really targeting people studying or working 👍🏻

Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon menu: bakery, salads and sandwiches

The bakery selection was bigger than I expected too. Bagels, cookies, scones, muffins, sandwiches and more... From snacks to dessert bread to meal bread, there's plenty of variety and enough to grab a quick bite.

Bread lovers would probably enjoy just browsing the bakery section!!

There's also a wide variety of sandwiches, and they're just the right size and price for office workers in Gangnam to grab as a lunch substitute. Even though I visited at 2pm, a lot had already sold out 🥺

I don't love coffee with acidity, so I went with the mocha beans!! They have more bean options than most other cafés.

My first americano in a while!! The aroma and flavor of the mocha beans were so, so good ㅠ.ㅜ Next time I'll have to try the Geisha beans 👊🏻 I didn't expect much from the sandwich, but it was packed with chicken breast and vegetables, and there was sauce spread inside the bread too — I ended up really enjoying it 🥺

How Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon works as a laptop and study café

I spent time working on my laptop at Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon, and the wifi was strong and the store was spacious, so it was comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling windows make it feel open, and the seats are spaced generously enough that staying a long time doesn't feel awkward. If you're looking for a study café or laptop-friendly café near Sinnonhyeon Station, I'd recommend Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon.
