Tomato olive focaccia at a Gojan-dong café in Ansan: Degree Gojan
In short
Degree Gojan Branch is a bakery café on Gwangdeok-daero in Gojan-dong, Ansan, open from 7am to midnight. Arriving at 11:30am, the writer drank an iced Americano made with the nutty 'Hosu' bean the staff recommended, alongside tomato olive focaccia, a chocolate baguette and watermelon juice. Both the focaccia and the chocolate baguette were crisp outside and moist inside at Degree Gojan Branch, good enough to eat without coffee.

Degree is one of my favorite cafés in Gojan-dong! I stop by whenever I have plans in Gojan-dong, Ansan, or a wedding at the AW Convention Center nearby. The coffee is great and the bread is amazing too. If you're from Ansan, you probably already know this place. I order delivery from here often, and since it opens early and closes late, I end up dropping by at least once a month!

Watermelon juice in September: a Degree Gojan signature drink
Degree, this café in Gojan-dong, Ansan, is famous for its watermelon juice, chocolate baguette, and jambon-beurre. It's great that watermelon juice was still available even in September, and it's genuinely delicious. There's so much real watermelon packed in that it's already a well-known item, and word has spread so much it's become known as the go-to spot for watermelon juice in Ansan.

How do you choose a bean at Degree? Monthly, fruity, nutty or decaf
Degree, this café in Gojan-dong, Ansan, is known for its coffee, and you can choose between monthly blend, acidic blend, nutty blend, and decaf beans. They also have a lemon Americano and cream Americano on the menu! You can even get oat milk lattes.
The most famous item is the watermelon juice, and it was still available when I visited on 9/5, haha. Café Degree also does filter coffee and cold brew. Also, if you leave a receipt review, they give you free Dutch coffee concentrate, so keep that in mind.
Café Degree smells amazing with all that coffee aroma! The café space itself has a really stylish, laid-back vibe too, haha.

They sell beans here too. If you love coffee, you'll probably end up buying some beans to take home, haha. I was really curious about the September beans.

Best time for bread at Degree Gojan: around 11:30 AM
I visited around 11:30 AM and there was still quite a lot of bread left! On weekends it gets crowded, so it seems like you need to come around this time to get the bread you actually want, hahaha.

Pastries and bagels at Degree Gojan Branch
Degree, this café in Gojan-dong, Ansan, is great at pastries — the croissant, almond croissant, cream croissant, pain au chocolat, and mango cream pastry are all delicious. They're good at bagels too, and pastries in general, haha. They're good at everything, honestly, and I've packed up just the bread several times.

Baguettes and sandwiches at Degree Gojan Branch
They have jambon baguette, fig baguette, arugula baguette, chocolate baguette, and more, plus basil cream cheese for sale, so you can pick to your taste, haha. There are sandwiches too, so it's a good place to grab a full meal. If I worked around here, I'd probably come every single day for lunch, haha.

The four things ordered at Degree Gojan Branch
At Degree, this café in Gojan-dong, Ansan, I picked watermelon juice, iced Americano, chocolate baguette, and tomato olive focaccia, haha.
Watermelon juice
Café Degree's watermelon juice is genuinely delicious. It's in the style of Thailand's taeng mo pan (watermelon smoothie). It's kind of like a smoothie, kind of like a juice, and above all, there's actual watermelon in it, which makes it so good. I get why it's famous, haha. This watermelon juice is legit amazing.

Iced Americano with the nutty 'Hosu' bean
Since Café Degree is known for its coffee, you have to order coffee too, haha. I asked the staff to recommend a nutty blend.

It's a bean called Hosu, the nutty style Koreans love, and it really was nutty and genuinely delicious. I usually like to pair dessert with coffee, but this one was tasty enough to drink on its own, haha.

Tomato olive focaccia
Places that do focaccia well are rare, and few places even sell it, so it was great to get delicious focaccia at Café Degree. They cut it into nice bite-sized pieces, and the combo of olive and tomato with the fluffy bread texture was really good!
Chocolate baguette
And finally, the chocolate baguette! Everyone around me recommends Degree's chocolate baguette, and after trying it this time, I get why it's famous. The outside is crackly and the inside is moist, with chocolate jam packed inside — just the right amount of sweet and bitter, so good. Legit amazing, haha.
I was so happy to find a great spot for chocolate baguette — it's legit amazing. I already knew Degree was great for baguettes, but the chocolate baguette is insanely good too. Since they deliver, I'll have to order it again soon!
