I met up with a close unni in Ilsan—where should we go? We ended up craving a spicy, warming dumpling hot pot, so we visited a dumpling place in Siksa-dong~

Whenever the weather gets a little chilly or I start craving something warm and brothy, I want dumpling hot pot so badly, haha. 🥟

This is a place where you can try dumpling hot pot made with handmade dumplings, so I wanted to recommend it as a great Siksa-dong restaurant. What I loved most was the spacious parking lot! Parking can be inconvenient when you are looking for restaurants in Siksa-dong, but Arirang Gaeseong Son Mandu Siksa Branch (아리랑 개성손만두 식사점) has plenty of parking, so it was easy to visit by car.

The restaurant was clean and had a comfortable atmosphere, and it also has group seating, so it seemed like a good choice for a family meal or gathering.

The owner was really kind. Even though it was my first visit, they made sure I could eat comfortably, so I left happy with not only the food but the service too. The staff took our order quickly and brought everything out quickly, so we could really relax and enjoy the meal.

We ordered the dumpling hot pot. It was ₩12,000 per person. The steaming broth was loaded with handmade dumplings, making it a satisfying lunch on its own. Rather than being aggressively spicy or salty, the broth had a flavor that went so well with the dumplings that I kept reaching for more.

If you love dumplings, I think this is a restaurant in Ilsandong-gu worth trying at least once. It can be surprisingly hard to choose a lunch spot in Siksa-dong, but Arirang Gaeseong Son Mandu Siksa Branch was a nice place for a hearty meal.

You absolutely have to eat the kalguksu, haha.

What especially impressed me at Arirang Gaeseong Son Mandu Siksa Branch was, haha, that you can watch them making the dumplings by hand. They were shaping dumplings right there in the dining room. Many places use ready-made products these days, but seeing the dumplings made in-house gave me more confidence in the food and somehow made me even more excited.

I took home 10 meat dumplings for the kids~ They are frozen, so they are easy to take away.
