While looking for a Korean meal in Ilsan, I visited Haenon Miyeok Ilsan Direct Branch (해논미역 일산직영점) on Aenigol-gil. I ordered the beef miyeokguk (seaweed soup) set meal, which came with totbap (seaweed rice) and a variety of side dishes, making for a satisfying meal.

Where is it, and is parking convenient?
The restaurant is at 30 Aenigol-gil, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The parking area in front was spacious, so it was easy to park. The original post lists its hours as 11:00–21:00, with a break time from 15:00–17:00.

What seaweed soup set meals are available?
Haenon Miyeok specializes in seaweed soup set meals. I could choose from several types based on ingredients including beef, scallops, sea urchin roe, dried pollack, mussel meat, and oysters.

Beyond seaweed soup, there were also spicy stir-fried pork and beef bulgogi set meals. I considered the sea urchin roe and scallop seaweed soups, but chose the beef seaweed soup set meal.

What is the indoor atmosphere like for a family meal?
The entrance made a striking impression. Once inside, the soft lighting and neatly arranged space felt cozy.

Photos of haenyeo (female divers) hung on the walls. The tables were generously spaced, making it comfortable to eat, and the staff were kind. I thought it would also be a good place for a family meal out.

What side dishes come with the set meal?
A full table was set with japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), salad, kimchi, zucchini, chogye naengchae (tangy cold salad), seasoned green laver, fried eggplant, and seasoned scallops. Each side dish was neatly presented, giving the meal a tidy impression.

There was a separate self-serve bar, where I could take more side dishes as needed.

Grilled flounder was included as well. With so many side dishes to accompany the seaweed soup, it was nice to alternate among them throughout the meal.

The japchae contained several vegetables, and its seasoning suited my taste, so I kept reaching for it.

The chogye naengchae was tangy, while the fried eggplant retained a crisp texture.

The seasoned scallops had a tangy, spicy dressing that went well with rice. The seasoned green laver was fragrant without being overpowering.
How were the beef seaweed soup and seaweed rice?
After the side dishes, the beef seaweed soup and seaweed rice arrived. The soup came bubbling in a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot), so I could enjoy it warm until the end.

The seaweed rice had a nutty aroma that gave it a different appeal from plain white rice.

After finishing a bowl, it felt like a comforting meal for me. I was pleased with the cozy atmosphere and varied selection of side dishes, and next time I would like to try the sea urchin roe or scallop seaweed soup.
