I suddenly had such a craving for yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef rice bowl), so I searched around and found this place! I visited Yukhwang (육향), a newly opened gem in Gasan Digital Complex. It is in the Halla One & One Tower shopping arcade, about a five-minute walk from Exit 8 of Gasan Digital Complex Station.
Yukhwang's location and atmosphere near Gasan Digital Complex Station

The restaurant is at the front of the first-floor arcade, so it is easy to find, and the huge sign makes it impossible to miss. Since it is newly opened, even the exterior looks sparkling clean.

An open kitchen is the first thing you see when you walk in! Being able to watch the cooking somehow makes me trust the place even more.

The interior is spotless, exactly what you would expect from a new restaurant. There are wood-toned tables and plenty of space between seats. Since the area is full of offices, it quickly fills with workers at lunchtime! It had only been open a short while, but I could see why the review scores were already so good.
Yukhwang menu and our order

Here is the menu! Gomtang (beef soup) ₩13,000 / brisket gomtang ₩18,000; yukhoe bibimbap ₩13,000 / yukhoe mulhoe (chilled raw-beef soup) ₩13,000; yukhoe ₩27,000 / mungtigi (thick-cut raw beef) ₩27,000 / mungtigi + yukhoe ₩45,000; boiled beef hot pot, small ₩48,000 / sliced boiled beef, half ₩15,000. All the meal options are in the low ₩10,000 range, so they are easy on the wallet for lunch in this neighborhood. We ordered two yukhoe bibimbaps and one yukhoe plate!
Soy sauce-based yukhoe bibimbap

The side dishes were kimchi, salad, and yakgochujang (seasoned chili paste). Even the side dishes arrived so neatly arranged. All the bowls were brass too, so somehow it felt like we were being treated, even though it was lunch haha.

A steaming bowl of broth comes with it too, and it is gomtang broth with beef in it, so it feels satisfyingly hearty.

Finally, the yukhoe bibimbap arrived! It is seasoned with a soy sauce base, and the yukhoe was so fresh and fragrant. It is loaded with vegetables, so when you mix them with the beef, you get that crisp bite too... seriously, insanely good. Unlike gochujang bibimbap, it is light and easy on the stomach, and alternating bites with the gomtang broth is perfection.

The seasoning is clean and not overpowering, so I could not stop spooning it up haha. The portion was bigger than I expected too, and one bowl left me nicely full.
Yukhoe plate with egg yolk and julienned pear

This is the yukhoe plate! An egg yolk sits right in the middle, with julienned pear, seaweed, and side dishes alongside it. You could tell the beef was different just from its color... unbelievably fresh.

Break the yolk and give it a quick mix, and it is ready. The nuttiness doubles.

It had that soft yet pleasantly chewy texture, and it was clean with not even a hint of gaminess. The subtle sesame oil aroma seemed to take away any unwanted meat smell completely!

Wrapping it in seaweed with the julienned pear was crazy good too. The nutty, gently sweet combination was the best. The yukhoe plate is also just the right amount for two people to share like an appetizer with drinks.

And today's highlight: piling the yukhoe onto the yukhoe bibimbap! You can feel the power right from the spoon haha. Is this what grown-up food tastes like...? That was the feeling. I enjoyed it so, so muchㅠㅠ If you work in Gasan Digital Complex, I seriously recommend it for lunch! If you like yukhoe, you have to try it. Just remember that they are closed on Sundays, and if you go for weekday lunch, you can probably get in before the wait starts! Next time I need to come back for the gomtang and yukhoe mulhoe too!
