Gangnam izakaya, no alcohol: maguro tataki and anki liver at Momiji
In short
Momiji Seolleung Branch is a private-room Japanese izakaya on Samseong-ro 85-gil in Gangnam, Seoul, a short walk from Seolleung Station. Because the writer was driving, the meal of seafood yakiudon, maguro tataki and anki liver (monkfish liver) sashimi was paired with non-alcoholic beer and zero-sugar cola instead of sake. With every seat in its own separate room, Momiji Seolleung Branch made it easy to eat and talk quietly.

I went looking for good food near Seolleung and found Momiji Seolleung Branch, an izakaya. Every seat here is a private room, which made it great for chatting while eating. I ordered seafood yakiudon, maguro (tuna) tataki, and anki liver (monkfish liver) sashimi, and tried non-alcoholic beer and zero-sugar cola alongside them. Here's my review of the menu, the room atmosphere, and the location and parking.
What is Momiji Seolleung Branch?

Momiji Seolleung Branch, a spot known for good food near Seolleung, is a Japanese-style izakaya where every seat is a private room. It has a wide range of menu items — sashimi, yakitori, kushiyaki, and rice/noodle dishes — and is open for both lunch and dinner, so it works for meal appointments too.
Location and parking near Seolleung Station

Momiji Seolleung Branch is located at 43 Samseong-ro 85-gil, 3F, Unit 1, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It's easy to reach from Seolleung Station, which made it convenient for an after-work dinner appointment or when looking for a good izakaya near Seolleung.
If you're driving, the building itself doesn't have much parking space, so it's better to use a nearby paid parking lot. The parking lot recommended by the restaurant was Seonjeongneung Public Parking Lot, priced at ₩400 per 10 minutes for up to 2 hours, and ₩600 per 10 minutes after that.
What are the private rooms like?
Momiji Seolleung Branch has no hall tables — every seat is a room. Since each room is separated, you don't need to worry much about the table next to you, and it was great for focusing on the meal with your own group. The overall vibe is clean and calm, so if you're looking for a quiet izakaya to talk over a meal, this is the place, haha.
I thought it would be great for a date, a small gathering, or a work dinner — appointments where having time to actually talk matters.
Momiji Seolleung Branch menu and prices

Momiji Seolleung Branch's menu ranges from sashimi, yakitori, and kushiyaki to full meal dishes. Signature items include the seasonal assorted sashimi (small) at ₩55,000, sweet shrimp with uni at ₩58,000, and assorted kushiyaki (10 kinds) at ₩35,000.

That day I ordered seafood yakiudon, maguro tataki, and anki liver sashimi. Since I wasn't drinking alcohol, I also ordered non-alcoholic beer and zero-sugar cola.

Seafood yakiudon
The udon noodles came loaded with seafood, so the portion was quite filling.

The seafood added flavor to the yakiudon's characteristically salty seasoning, so it wasn't bland at all, and eating it hot made for a fantastic combination with the other dishes!

Maguro tataki (seared tuna)
Maguro tataki is a dish where the surface of the tuna is lightly seared. The outside is cooked while the inside keeps a soft tuna texture, so it went down easily.
I'd had a bad tataki experience at another izakaya before, so I really debated whether to order this — but Momiji Seolleung Branch's maguro tataki was a success!! Order two!!

Anki liver sashimi (monkfish liver)
This dish lets you enjoy the distinctively soft, rich flavor of monkfish liver — the foie gras of the sea!
It has a texture that seems to melt softly, with a rich flavor, so wrapping it with seaweed and sashimi together — wow, this is heaven.

Non-alcoholic beer and zero-sugar cola for drivers
Instead of alcohol, I ordered non-alcoholic beer and zero-sugar cola. Both my companion and I had to drive, so it was a bit of a shame, but

having non-alcoholic beer around still made for a nice mood.
Is Momiji Seolleung Branch worth a visit?
After visiting in person, Momiji Seolleung Branch, a good spot near Seolleung, turned out to be an izakaya that's great for enjoying both a meal and conversation in a private room. The menu I ordered ranged from a hearty dish like seafood yakiudon to sashimi items like maguro tataki and anki liver sashimi, so it was easy to put together a varied spread. Having every seat as a private room makes this a great place for anyone looking for a quiet meal!
