Today I'm bringing you a proper bar review! I was looking for somewhere to have a light drink in Sillim and ended up visiting
Yahwa Sillim
When people say "solo drinking bar," some places feel awkward to walk into alone or so quiet it's stressful, but this place had a calm mood while still having little touches that let you mingle with others, so I ended up staying way more comfortably than I expected! Let's get into the review.
Where is Yahwa Sillim? 5 minutes from Sillim Station, basement level
It's located less than 5 minutes from Sillim Station! Yahwa Sillim sits in the basement, tucked into a corner inside the building.

Yahwa Sillim is tucked into a corner inside the building, so at first I was like, "wait, there was a place like this here?" It has that hidden-away, quiet vibe, which actually makes it a great spot to go for a solo drink. There are tons of bars around Sillim Station, but if you're looking for a Sillim bar with a calmer vibe rather than a loud one, this fits well!

And down we go to the basement, whoosh!

Inside Yahwa Sillim: Post Malone playlist and a movie screen
Inside, the overall vibe at Yahwa Sillim was really calm. The lighting was soft, not dark or overwhelming, so it felt comfortable even sitting alone!
There was another point I personally loved here... the store music was mostly Post Malone songs! He's one of my favorite artists, so hearing familiar songs I like the whole time kept me in a good mood while drinking haha. Music and space really matter when you're drinking alone, and this day the music taste matched too, which made me feel even more at ease staying there!

And on one side, a screen was playing a movie. Having a movie play in the background while drinking made the whole mood feel even better!

Yahwa Sillim menu: cocktails, highballs, whisky, beer and QR ordering
You can order easily via QR code~

From cocktails to highballs, whisky, and beer, the variety was pretty wide, and especially with so many whisky options, this seemed like a great spot for anyone looking for a good place to have whisky in Sillim!! The cocktail lineup was also varied enough that whether you don't know much about whisky or you love sweet cocktails, there's something for your taste. I started with a cocktail that day!

How do the Kahlua Milk and Falling Star cocktails taste?
Here they are — Kahlua Milk and Falling Star!

This is the Kahlua Milk my friend ordered! Kahlua's signature sweet-yet-bitter coffee flavor combined with smooth milk made the whole thing sweet and nutty. It's a great menu when you want to start with something soft and sweet rather than jumping straight into strong liquor! It has that familiar coffee-milk taste, so even people who aren't great drinkers could probably enjoy it pretty comfortably~

And this is the Falling Star I ordered! Even the name matches Yahwa's vibe really well, and compared to the Kahlua Milk it had a bit more of a fresh, sweet feel that was easy to drink. It had a subtle sweetness without being too heavy, so it was great for sipping slowly, and it fit the mood too! Since the two cocktails had such different vibes, it was fun switching between them!

Hehe, ta-da~ The cocktails looked so pretty I couldn't help but snap photos. Just vibing quietly with a friend at this solo drinking bar >__<

After the cocktails, a Budweiser at Yahwa Sillim
One cocktail each wasn't quite enough, so we also ordered a Budweiser! Actually, before coming to Yahwa that day I'd already had a beer earlier~ So after the cocktails I was craving something more familiar and refreshing, which led to the Budweiser. There's really something about a cold beer haha. Switching from cocktails to beer gave a completely different feeling and I loved it! It was great that Yahwa has beer as well as cocktails and whisky, so you can pick whatever you're in the mood for on any given day!!

Why drinking alone at Yahwa Sillim isn't boring: table card games
One more fun point about Yahwa! There were various card games and conversation-topic cards set up on the table! Instead of just sitting alone drinking, there were interesting topics like light balance-game questions that let you casually start a conversation, so drinking solo wasn't boring at all!!
Especially the first time you go to a solo drinking bar, you might think, "what do I even talk about with people here?" but having these cards made it feel natural to start chatting! I found myself chuckling alone at some of the funny topics on the cards, and also had a good time talking with others.
If you're looking for a good-vibe bar or a place to drink solo near Sillim Station, I think it'd be worth having a relaxed drink at Yahwa Sillim~~!
