Yeouido IFC Mall snack set for one, no spice: Hyeonseonine Premium

This time I ate somewhere really good! I was craving Korean snack food so badly that I went straight to Hyeonseonine in Yeouido's IFC Mall! I couldn't stop thinking about tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes), so I ran right over. If you love Korean snack food, you'll 100% love this haha. Let me introduce it in detail!

Where Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is, and its hours

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is on basement level 2 of IFC Mall at 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Hours are Mon–Sun 11:00–21:00, last order at 20:40. Good to keep in mind before you go!

What comes in the 23,000-won Hyeonseonine Set

I ordered the Hyeonseonine Set plus a soft drink. I wanted to try a bit of everything so I went with the set! It comes with tteokbokki, fried snacks, sundae (with offal), gimbap, and fish cake broth. You can pick any soda you like to go with it!

There are also individual items and other menu options, so check the menu board and order what you like. They also sell hot pot-style tteokbokki cooked at the table. The set is ₩23,000 — the portion is huge, and honestly that's a solid price for these days! I was extra happy since I was eating it all by myself haha.

Walking route from Yeouido Station to IFC Mall

Go straight out Exit 3 of Yeouido Station and you'll hit IFC Mall — it's inside that underground shopping arcade, so taking the subway is your best bet. Public transit access is really good here. Walk along the moving walkway and the shop appears right away! Already looks deliciously spicy from a distance~

Ordering is done conveniently at the kiosk! Order, grab a seat, and you're done!

How mild is the wheat rice cake broth tteokbokki?

I can't handle spicy food, so I got it completely mild! There seem to be three levels: mild, medium, and spicy. The rice cakes are wheat rice cakes (miltteok). Really chewy and delicious. The tteokbokki has enough broth that you get to scoop it up with a spoon and eat it sweet — so good! There's fish cake too, and the portion is pretty generous... honestly the tteokbokki amount was so much I got super full. The set is really meant to be shared by two. Eating it alone, the portion was a lot for me.

The four fried snacks and the gimbap

Next up is the fried snacks! The types were vegetable fritter, squid fritter, mandu (dumpling) fritter, and gimmari (seaweed rice roll fritter). With that many types, it was fun to pick and choose. The vegetable fritter especially was a standout — dipped in soy sauce, it was crispy and delicious!

Next, the gimbap! It was surprisingly packed with fillings. Ham, egg, pickled radish, imitation crab, and rice were all generously stuffed inside — loved that. And it had plenty of sesame oil drizzled on top, giving it a nutty flavor! As expected~ this earns its spot as an IFC Mall lunch favorite in Yeouido!

Sundae with lung and liver, plus the fish cake broth

The third dish was sundae! It comes with sundae, lung, and liver together. The sundae portion was way bigger than I expected too. Chewy, and the organs were nutty and really delicious. Dipped in salt, it's exactly the flavor you'd expect! Also, spoons, chopsticks, and sauces are self-serve, so grab them yourself!

When your throat feels stuffed in the middle of the meal, you've gotta wash it down with hot fish cake broth, right?! The broth was so refreshing and delicious!

Doesn't the fried food look great too? This is the kind of food everyone, young and old, would love.

Can you see how packed the sundae is? A lot of places skimp on sundae, but Hyeonseonine is honest with their portions! Truly a must-visit tteokbokki restaurant in Yeouido!

Like I said, the gimbap was packed full inside and really filling. Looking at it now, there's even spinach in there! Such a generous mix of ingredients!

Wheat rice cake fans: order the tteokbokki on its own

The best part of all — the tteokbokki! Between wheat rice cakes and rice cakes, I really love wheat rice cakes, and these weren't mushy at all, stayed chewy, and the sauce had soaked in perfectly~. Since it also had broth, it tasted just like the old snack shops in front of school haha. It was so good I'd genuinely recommend it as a single order too! I had it mild, but I bet medium spice would be great as well!

I think I'll have to swing by Hyeonseonine every time I crave Korean snack food. It was so satisfying and generous. Truly a great snack restaurant to hit near The Hyundai Seoul!

A spread that works for solo diners, dates and families

What do you all think of a spread like this? It works fine for a date, and fine with family too! The place isn't huge, but it's comfortable enough to eat in! Highly recommend! Worth stopping by whenever you're in Yeouido!
