Busan Korean BBQ private rooms with marinated ribs: Gim Geumja
In short
Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Nam-gu, Busan. I tried the 600g domestic marinated pork ribs set with Geumja Cheongyang cream udon and checked out its spacious dining room and private room for up to 16 people. Verdict: the sweet ribs and spicy-creamy udon are an especially great pairing.

It had been a while since I’d had pork ribs, so while looking for a meat restaurant in Daeyeon-dong, I visited Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch (김금자숯불갈비 대연점), which specializes in domestic pork ribs. It even has a unique set menu called Cheongyang cream udon that you rarely see at a typical meat restaurant!

A Daeyeon-dong meat restaurant near Motgol Station
It is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 2 of Motgol Station on Subway Line 2. With such easy public-transit access, it is ideal for meeting up.
Nam-gu Office parking lot is a 5-minute walk away, so you can park affordably if you drive.
A spacious dining room and private room for team dinners and family meals
The interior is pleasant and tidy! The ventilation is well equipped, without the thick smoke or greasiness typical of meat restaurants. The tables in the main dining room are also generously spaced, making for a comfortable atmosphere to eat in.
Best of all, there is a private room at the back with four tables for four, accommodating up to 16 people. It is a Daeyeon-dong restaurant layout that works well for family meals, company dinners, and group gatherings.
The self-service bar is tidy too!

Domestic pork and a wide range of meal dishes
This place insists on using only high-quality, 100% domestic pork, so its main dishes are the lightly sweet domestic marinated ribs and spicy ribs with a punchy, savory flavor from a special sauce. It also offers cuts such as bone-in fresh ribs, whole pork jowl, whole skirt meat, and honeycomb pork skin.
There are good-value set menus as well as a varied selection of dishes, including doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), doenjang sulbap (rice in soybean-paste broth), and icy mul naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in broth). The deeply simmered pork backbone soup is only ₩1,000 with your first order! It was sold out on the day I visited, sadly, but next time. You can also enjoy a refreshing 300ml icy draft beer for the very reasonable price of ₩2,900.

There is also a photo-review event, so join in!
Marinated ribs and Cheongyang cream udon set
Domestic marinated pork ribs 600g + Geumja Cheongyang cream udon set.

The basic table setting charge is ₩1,500 per person, but the spread is nicely generous. It comes with side dishes that go perfectly with the meat. You can easily help yourself to more side dishes at the self-service bar.
Domestic marinated ribs grilled over charcoal
First, grill the pork ribs over high-heat charcoal!

They cooked up juicy with a charcoal aroma. Since the pork is domestic, there is not a trace of off smell, and it is tender.

The seasoning is not aggressively sweet, so these pork ribs never become cloying. Wrapped in ssam (leaf wraps), the charcoal aroma and savory juices are such a good combination!
Cheongyang cream udon that cuts through the richness
The Geumja Cheongyang cream udon came as part of the set. Chewy udon noodles are generously coated in a thick, rich cream sauce.
The gentle creaminess is balanced decisively by the tingling heat of Cheongyang chili peppers. It comes with bread and strawberry jam, which are nice to eat alongside it!

The best tip for enjoying it is to eat it with the charcoal-grilled marinated ribs. The sweet meat and spicy-creamy sauce go so well together.
Honeycomb pork skin received through the review event. It was deliciously chewy!

To finish, we grilled and ate nostalgic jjonddeugi (chewy wheat snack). There was so much food that we passed on the meal dishes...
