My Japanese friend came to visit Korea and we went on a picnic together at Mangwon Han River Park. We bought food at Mangwon Market and rented all our picnic gear from Picnic List Mangwon, and had such a great time at Mangwon Han River Park!

I realized we could get everything we needed sorted right at the Picnic List Mangwon store.

The store had all kinds of items on display, from mats to picnic baskets to tables, so it was fun just to look around.

How the QR code and kiosk rental works, and hauling it by wagon

It was convenient that we could rent everything through the QR code and kiosk without waiting for staff. You just pick and gather your items following the instructions, which made it easy to keep moving on schedule with friends.

The hardworking youngest member, doing a great job, really~

I was a bit worried about carrying so many items, but (lucky for us, we have a hardworking, strong-armed youngest member [who's great for putting to work]...) we were able to load everything onto a wagon like in the photo and haul it all the way to the Han River. Returning was just as simple — put everything back in place and scan the QR code.

Once we laid out the jokbal and snacks we bought from Mangwon Market on the table, it really felt like a proper picnic.

Setting chairs and a table on top of the mat also made it comfortable to sit and eat. After wandering the market and then eating together by the Han River, even the scenery I was so used to felt a little special. ♥

Once the sun went down and we turned on the lights, our picnic spot felt even cozier. We also played the Rummikub and Halli Galli we'd rented, and time flew by while we chatted and played. Who won first place? Me, of course!

Just eating by the Han River and heading home can feel like it's over too soon, but thanks to the board games, we got to laugh and hang out with friends for much longer. With the mat and table spread out and everyone gathered around, it felt like we had our own little hideout on the Han River. And once the sun set and the lights came on, the mood got even better.

My Japanese friend also really enjoyed picking out food at Mangwon Market and eating it together by the river, which made me proud too. Taking photos and chatting, time passed so quickly. (Sadly.) Next time, we're planning to rent from the daytime and enjoy the Han River for longer on a nice, sunny day!
