Mangwon Han River camping picnic combo set, day to night: Picnic List
In short
Picnic List Mangwon is a 24-hour unstaffed picnic gear rental shop on Mangwon-ro in Mapo, Seoul. A combo set booked in advance on Naver put a tent, mat, camping chairs and table on a wagon for the walk to Mangwon Han River Park, where the setup switched from mat and tent in the afternoon to chairs, table and a mood light after sunset. Returning the gear means leaving it in the shop's return zone, which suits anyone who picnics now and then and owns no equipment.

Am I the only one who wants to go to the Han River the second the weather turns nice? Honestly even just sitting there eating delivery food is great, but this time I decided to do a proper picnic at Mangwon Han River Park! Except lugging a tent and mat from home already sounded like a hassle... so instead I rented picnic gear from Picnic List Mangwon 🌿

Is the unstaffed shop hard to use?
This shop runs unmanned. At first I wondered how I was even supposed to take stuff, but once I got there the signage was so clear it turned out way easier than expected, haha. Actually not having to wait for staff and just checking my reserved items and grabbing them was way simpler.
Inside, there was a genuinely wide variety of picnic gear! From basics like tents and mats to camping chairs, tables, mood lights, portable chargers, electric fly swatters, air pillows — all the nice-to-have picnic items lined up by category.

They also had a range of fun extras like board games and bubbles you could add on separately. Even with zero picnic gear of my own, like me, this place can basically cover everything, haha.

What comes in the tent, mat, chairs and table combo set
There were several set options, plus you could rent items individually — so whether you just want a simple mat picnic at Mangwon Han River Park or a full camping-picnic setup with a tent, you could build it your way!
I booked ahead through Naver and rented a combo set! The combo let me pick the combination that fit my picnic style. We went with tent, mat, camping chairs, and table, and did a proper camping-picnic at Mangwon Han River Park, haha.

When you prepare everything separately for a picnic, there's honestly a lot to pack. Being able to grab it all in one place cut down the packing stress a lot. We checked our reserved items and got everything ready — you just carry it all on the wagon cart.

Picking a spot and pitching the tent at Mangwon Han River Park
And finally, we arrived at Mangwon Han River Park! Coming to the Han River on a nice day always instantly lifts my mood. There were plenty of trees and grass around, so we found a good shady spot and settled in.

First up, pitching the tent! Just spreading it out like in the photo and it took shape quickly. Even for someone like me who doesn't know much about camping gear, it wasn't too hard. Once the tent was up, it suddenly felt like a real camping-picnic, lol.
We tidied up the inside too — being able to sit and rest inside was great for avoiding the sun, and surprisingly useful for storing our stuff. And it doesn't stop there.

We laid out a mat in front of the tent and set up the camping chairs too!

Setting it all up piece by piece, our very own picnic space came together 🌿

Personally, having the camping chairs made things way more comfortable. Instead of just sitting on the mat the whole time, being able to lean back in a chair and switch between the two was really nice. With the tent, mat, and camping chairs all set up, it felt like a proper camping-picnic rather than a simple riverside picnic.

The wagon cart was genuinely so convenient — tossing in stripped-off plastic wrap and stuff made things so easy!!! I finally understood why everyone brings full gear out to the Han River, haha.
Why renting picnic gear beat buying it
Above all, if you actually bought all this gear yourself, storing it is a whole task on its own, not to mention hauling it all the way to Mangwon Han River Park.

For someone like me who only picnics occasionally, renting when needed feels way more practical. With the tent and camping chairs set up like this on a nice day, you get plenty of atmosphere without even going to an actual campground. Great with friends, and great for a Han River date too!

Especially in spring, this would be great combined with cherry blossom festival viewing 🌸 A simple mat is plenty for a picnic at Mangwon Han River Park, but I'd also recommend renting a tent and camping chairs and going full camping-picnic mode! And once we were done playing, there was no waiting around for the return either.

Mat by day, chairs and a mood light after dark
The inside of the tent was roomier than expected, so I could even lie down flat and rest, lol. After lounging around for a while, I looked outside and the sun had already gone down.

So we slowly came out of the tent and started round two in the camping chairs, haha.
During the day we sat on the mat, in between we lay down and rested in the tent, and once the sun went down we leaned back in the chairs — the whole vibe shifted each time, and I loved it. This must be exactly why people love camping-picnics at Mangwon Han River Park 🌙

Once it was fully dark, we packed up the tent and just kept the camping chairs and table out. Then we ordered delivery food and watched videos while eating, haha. The nighttime vibe was totally different from the daytime picnic, and honestly amazing. And definitely rent the mood light...! Just switching that one light on once night fell completely changed the atmosphere — so romantic.
Joining the review event also got us some bubbles! We tried them on the way out, and with the night lights shining through, they were so cute, lol. Played to the very last minute before heading home 🫧
Returning the gear to the shop's return zone
Return was super simple too. Just leave the rented items at the store's return zone and you're done! No waiting for staff or dealing with a complicated return process, so even exhausted from playing all day, we could return everything quickly, lol. Being able to use the whole process unmanned, from renting to returning, was honestly the most convenient part.
I booked ahead through Naver, so I could grab my reserved items and head straight out, and once we were done, returning was as simple as leaving everything at the return zone. From mat rental to tent rental to a full camping-picnic at Mangwon Han River Park, if you find packing your own picnic gear a hassle, Picnic List Mangwon is worth trying! Great pick for a picnic or date with friends on a nice day :)
