Today I want to introduce a great spot in Palyong-dong, Changwon — Daedo Jangeo! My boyfriend and I hadn't done any proper body-boosting eating in a while, so we went hunting for a good restaurant, and we were so satisfied.

Where is Daedo Jangeo, and where do you park?
Daedo Jangeo, this Palyong-dong favorite in Changwon, is right near Changwon Station, so it's easy to get to.
There's parking for about 3-4 cars right in front of the restaurant,
and you can also use the public parking lot right next door! (1 hour of parking supported at lunch, 2 hours at dinner)
A restaurant officially recognized by Changwon City!!! 🫢 That made me even more excited to see how good it would be.
Inside Daedo Jangeo: book ahead at lunchtime
The interior of Daedo Jangeo was clean and tidy, mostly set up with 4-person tables.
We came at lunchtime and the place was already packed with customers..! I guess a good restaurant finds its own crowd even without advertising 🙌🏻 (✔️ Reservations recommended for lunch)
There's also a room further inside, great for group dinners or family gatherings.
It's a neatly kept space, so it felt easy and comfortable whether you're visiting as a family or bringing along the older generation.
Daedo Jangeo's menu and the ₩17,000 weekday lunch special
Daedo Jangeo's main dishes are sea eel (sauce or salt), freshwater eel, and stir-fried octopus. For meals, there's eel soup and naengmyeon (cold noodles, plain or spicy)!
On weekdays from 11am to 2:30pm you can get the lunch special too! It's ₩17,000! You get sea eel + eel soup + side dishes + a bowl of rice, all for a reasonable, filling price! *Not available weekends or holidays

There was such a huge variety of side dishes! I'm not usually someone who eats a ton of banchan (Korean side dishes), but these were seasoned just right and delicious, so I ended up eating a lot haha.
For extra side dishes, you can use the neatly set-up self-serve bar, and if there's something you want that isn't there, staff will bring it to you 👍🏻
What we ordered: medium sea eel grilled in sauce, ₩50,000
Medium sea eel grilled with sauce (50.0), eel soup + rice for two (8.0), total ₩58,000. It was visually overwhelming from the moment it arrived, and grilled over charcoal it had a deep smoky flavor packed all through it!
There were two of us, so we ordered the medium size sea eel grilled with sauce.
It was plenty for two people, and the sauce was generously coated all over.
Eaten together with the onions layered underneath, the sweet and salty sauce soaked deep into the eel with perfect savory depth, ugh. There were almost no bones, so we could enjoy it easily without needing to pick anything apart, which was even better.
There was no fishy smell at all, and the more you chewed, the more that nutty flavor came through — really easy to eat without any hesitation.
Time for the full wrap experience haha. Put a big piece of eel on a perilla leaf, add pickled onion and ginger, and take one huge bite — so good 🤤
Eel soup with rice, ₩4,000 per person
While eating the eel, we ordered eel soup + rice on top! I don't usually eat chueotang (loach soup) much either, so I was a bit worried, but that worry turned out to be pointless — I ate it up happily.
If you want a rice meal after eating the eel, it's ₩4,000 per person. Add sancho pepper powder to taste! 🙌🏻
If you join the Naver receipt review event, you get a bottle of sikhye (sweet rice punch) or a glass of highball as a gift, so anyone interested should definitely join in!
Is Daedo Jangeo worth it? Right down to the free coffee
We came out stuffed and even got a proper coffee from the coffee machine ☕️ (apparently they use Starbucks beans!). The restaurant atmosphere was so clean, and between the side dishes and the main course, we came away completely satisfied haha. (Next time I'm bringing my parents 💛)
