We waited about 10 minutes that day before getting seated.

What Daedo Jangeo looks like inside and out

Daedo Jangeo looked clean from the outside, and the interior was just as well kept. It wasn't a brand-new, ultra-modern space, but it had that solid feel of a local favorite that's been loved in the same spot for a long time.

The whole interior was table seating, with generous spacing between tables so we could eat comfortably. It was pretty busy when we visited, but the atmosphere stayed lively without being loud.

There are also private rooms. Looking around while eating, I noticed there was a self-serve bar too — you could grab extra side dishes yourself whenever you needed more.

And the bathroom was really clean, which I appreciated. These days I've started paying attention to how clean a restaurant's bathroom is, haha.

There was even mouthwash ready to go — such a thoughtful touch. It let us finish the meal off perfectly.

There's a high chair for kids too!

Fridge stocked with drinks and alcohol

The drink fridge was neatly stocked as well, with all kinds of alcohol and beverages nicely displayed. There were a lot of highball options, and get this — two kinds of non-alcoholic beer!

How does the Jinju-style seasoned grilled sea eel taste?

Daedo Jangeo's grilled seasoned sea eel is done Jinju-style, and it barely tasted of MSG — clean but deep in flavor. Not long after ordering, the basic side dishes arrived, and they set out a generous spread with wrap vegetables, pickled sides, and even a salad.

Ginger and garlic go so well with eel! They were great as light accompaniments.

We also ordered a non-alcoholic beer to drink alongside the meal. A cold beer made the eel taste even better.

The grilled seasoned sea eel is done Jinju-style, and the sauce was really something special. It barely had any MSG flavor and was clean yet deep.

The eel meat was plump and tender, practically melting in your mouth. The sauce soaked into the eel so well it was delicious even on its own, but even better wrapped up. Putting a piece of eel and ginger on a perilla leaf with a dab of ssamjang was absolutely amazing — that combo is the real deal, haha.

Eel soup with jepi powder (Korean pepper)

Daedo Jangeo's eel soup had a rich, refreshing broth that I really liked. Eating it alongside the grilled eel felt hearty and settling. It went perfectly with rice.

They gave us jepi powder (Korean pepper powder) to go with it. Sprinkling a little into the eel soup added a fragrant note that made it even more enjoyable.

We finished off with sikhye (sweet rice punch) for a clean ending. Sweet and cool, it was the perfect palate cleanser. Little details like this really complete a good meal!
