Crispy handmade pork soup set for three at a Paju Chinese restaurant
In short
Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch is a newly opened stone-plate jjajang and jjamppong Chinese restaurant near Simhaksan in Paju, Gyeonggi. Three of us ordered a medium stone-plate jjajang with the handmade pork soup and chicken soup set, worked through the noodles, squid and octopus, and cleared the nurungji (crispy rice) left on the hot stone, while the handmade pork soup stayed crisp outside and juicy inside to the last piece. With unlimited rice refills, baby chairs at the entrance and a puffed rice and yogurt dessert corner, Dolpanseok Jjamppong works well for a family meal out.

They also had mapo tofu, which is great with rice or as a drinking snack~~ I'll have to try that next time.
Unlimited rice refills, baby chairs and the puffed rice and yogurt dessert corner

At the self-serve corner at Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch, rice was set up so you could refill it as much as you like~~~

At this Simhaksan-area spot, there's a baby chair at the entrance along with puffed rice and yogurt for dessert, which was great to have after the meal. We cleared our yogurt too haha.

A sign says a medium size is fine for 4 people — totally agree haha. The three of us ordered the stone-plate jjajang with the handmade pork soup and chicken soup set and ate until we were completely full.
Stone-plate jjajang: sizzling noodles with squid and octopus

There was a detailed explanation of how to best eat the stone-plate jjamppong and jjajang haha.
It looked so tempting I had to take a video. The noodles, squid, and octopus sizzling away on the stone plate with such a satisfying sound haha. Springy, chewy noodles, soft squid melting in your mouth, and chewy octopus. The sauce soaked into every ingredient so well — this Simhaksan restaurant in Paju gave me a flavor I can't forget~~~~

Can you spot the rice under the noodles~~~ After finishing the noodles, squid and octopus, you can also eat the nurungji (crispy rice) layered at the bottom. Noodles alone might feel a bit lacking, but having rice too made for an even more filling meal haha.
Ah... it makes me crave that soft squid all over again. At this Paju restaurant, they use a stone plate so the food stays warm until the very last bite — you can really feel the thoughtfulness toward customers. These small touches make me want to come back.

Glossy noodles, steam rising. Just thinking about it makes me hungry haha. I need to go back again next weekend.
Scooping some noodles and shrimp onto my plate for a big bite. The chewy noodles and moist shrimp really came through in every bite. You should all try it too~~~
It was generously loaded with quail eggs, squid, and octopus — good protein and plenty of seafood. Today I really feel like I got a nutritional boost, so good, so good ^^

How were the handmade pork soup and chicken soup?
This Simhaksan restaurant in Paju also sells handmade pork soup and chicken soup. It's exactly as it sounds — crispy outside, moist inside. So soft on the inside and so crispy on the outside~~ one bite and it crackled and practically melted in my mouth.

The sauce was also fresh and tasty. It stayed crispy outside and moist inside until the very last bite. That's what made the handmade pork soup so enjoyable.

Dipping it in the sauce for a bite.

Can you see the white inside~~ It was so tender it's hard to believe it's a pork soup dish — you should all give the handmade pork soup a try~~ That's my honest review of this Simhaksan restaurant in Paju. It's delicious, so I hope you try it too^^
