Chuncheon katsu restaurant with baby chairs: mixed and hire katsu sets
In short
Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch is a pork cutlet (donkatsu) restaurant in Hyoja-dong, Chuncheon, close to Gangwon National University. Visiting with a baby, the writer ordered one Jeongseong Mixed Katsu Set and one Hire Katsu Set, and the pair arrived with salad, soup, pickles, kimchi, sauce, wasabi and curry rice, filling the large table. With a wide hall and baby chairs ready, Jeongseong Katsu suited a lunch with a baby just as well as a date.

I was in Chuncheon trying to figure out what to eat for lunch, and this time I really wanted katsu haha. So off I went to Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch (정성카츠 춘천효자점)!

The place has a clean vibe and a good variety of katsu, so if you're looking for a Hyoja-dong restaurant in Chuncheon, it's worth a visit~ I especially went with my baby, and since the store was spacious with a baby chair on hand, lunch was more comfortable than I expected ❤️

What is Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch like inside? A wide, clean hall
Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch has a spacious hall layout with generous spacing between tables. The first thing I noticed walking in was that the place was cleaner and bigger than I expected!
A lot of katsu places tend to be a bit cramped with tables squeezed together, but here the space felt comfortably open~

The interior was also clean and pretty, so it felt fine for a baby lunch and perfect for a date too >.< In fact, there were quite a few couples clearly there on dates when we visited haha.

Are there baby chairs at Jeongseong Katsu?
Something that matters if you're bringing a baby along: Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch has baby chairs ready. It's one of the first things I check when eating out with my baby, and since they had one here, I could just sit her right down and eat comfortably ^^

She was so excited haha.

What comes with the Jeongseong Mixed Katsu Set and Hire Katsu Set
That day at Jeongseong Katsu we ordered one Jeongseong Mixed Katsu Set and one Hire Katsu Set. We went back and forth deciding, and ended up ordering two different things~ When the food came out, the table was way more packed than I expected — oh! haha

Even though the table itself is quite large, the food still filled it up completely ^^

Since it's a set menu, you don't just get the katsu on its own — salad and soup come along with it, plus pickles, kimchi, sauce, and wasabi~

Eating salad alongside katsu is great for cutting the richness, and the kimchi and pickles worked well as sides too! Personally I loved the wasabi — a little dab on the katsu keeps it clean and not too heavy, which is a combo I really like haha.

The mixed katsu includes shrimp katsu too
The Jeongseong Mixed Katsu Set brings several different kinds of katsu on one plate. The mixed katsu I ordered had a variety, which made it fun to try one at a time~ I especially loved that shrimp katsu was included! Rather than just eating pork cutlet the whole time, having shrimp in the mix meant I could pick and choose across types, which made it even better ^^

Since we ordered two different sets, I got to try both the mixed katsu and the hire katsu haha. The hire katsu was soft and delicious, and the mixed katsu let me enjoy a bunch of things at once, so I was really satisfied! Best of all, the portions were pretty generous, so ordering two sets between the two of us left us full. And there was one thing that was genuinely a surprise haha.

Curry rice comes with every Jeongseong Katsu set
The Jeongseong Katsu set comes with curry alongside it. Curry came with the set! I mixed it into the rice and thought, huh? This is actually good haha. Eating a bite of curry rice between bites of katsu turned out to be a surprisingly nice touch >.<

I figured the curry was just a small side, but eaten with the rice it paired way better than I expected! Katsu on its own can get a little heavy after a while, but switching between curry rice and kimchi kept me going the whole meal haha.

Why Jeongseong Katsu is a go-to near Gangwon National University
Eating there, I could see why it's such a popular lunch spot near Gangwon National University haha. The menu is hearty enough for a student lunch, and the clean atmosphere makes it a good fit for hanging out with friends or going on a date~
I tend to prefer places with a clean, tidy atmosphere, and Jeongseong Katsu delivered there too~ If you're in Chuncheon craving katsu for lunch and want somewhere clean, Jeongseong Katsu should do the trick :) Next time I want to try other menu items haha. Especially the mixed katsu — since it comes with shrimp and a variety of types, I'd recommend it if it's your first visit!

If you're looking for a clean place to eat with your baby, or want a delicious katsu spot for a date, give Jeongseong Katsu in Chuncheon's Hyoja-dong a try ❤️ I was just looking for somewhere to eat lunch in Chuncheon and ended up having a really satisfying, filling meal haha.
