Jeju indoor media art on a windy-warning day, with mom: Nohyeong
In short
Nohyeong Supermarket is a large indoor immersive media art exhibition on Nohyeong-ro near Jeju Airport. Visited with my mom on a day when a strong wind advisory ruled out any outdoor plans, we browsed Nohyeong Grocery Store and Nohyeong Café, picked up strawberry juloreok and tangerine juice with the drink vouchers included in the admission ticket, and wandered from the black-and-white supermarket section through to the space of light. This is the perfect indoor course for Jeju — it shines even brighter on a bad-weather day.

A strong wind advisory went up . . so I was searching for something to do indoors and found Nohyeong Supermarket, a media art space near Jeju Airport. I'll introduce it right away 🤍

The exterior

The scale of the exterior alone was overwhelming .. decorated in true Jeju style with palm trees 🌴, and the parking space next door was spacious, so that was convenient.
Admission ticket includes a drink voucher

When you buy an admission ticket, you're given a ticket and a drink voucher.
Nohyeong Grocery Store

Across from the ticket booth is Nohyeong Grocery Store, which sells souvenirs — fun to browse around too.
Strawberry juloreok and tangerine juice at Nohyeong Café

They sold everything from ice cream, macarons, and omegi-tteok (Jeju rice cake) to cookies, vitamins, Eclipse gum, and candy.

We ordered one strawberry juloreok and one tangerine juice each. 🍓🍊
They said you could drink it at the seating area or take it upstairs with you, so we took ours straight up!
An old supermarket recreated in black and white

Against the black-and-white backdrop, a whole wall was filled with all kinds of clocks — such an antique feel to it ,,,,🕖

On the stairway leading up, black-and-white posters were lined up side by side — old ads, comic images, news articles, celebrities — creating the atmosphere of decades past. Really interesting.

The look of an old-fashioned supermarket has been recreated exactly, and I think it would feel really nostalgic for older visitors.

Old cigarette packs were also lined up by type, so browsing them was fun too.🚬
From black and white into a space of light
Now, going further inside, you enter a space of light that contrasts completely with the black-and-white section !!!!

The moment you step in, you can really feel the immersion that the light and music give you — with every step, I got mysteriously drawn into different concepts of light and color.
Light reflected off the ceiling in every direction, and the mirrors widened the view. It was already dazzling, and I found myself looking forward to the other spaces too. 🤍
It felt like a stage you'd see at a musical performance, and the scale of the exhibits up front was enormous. Video kept playing, and the various pieces were genuinely artistic 🫢

It even gave off an aquarium-like feeling 🐟🦈
So healing, right? ✨✨
There was plenty of seating to sit and take it all in, and I lost track of time, completely soaked in the charm of the music, light, and scent together.

Don't forget, you can get a gift through the review event!

The photo zone was so cute I couldn't not take pictures haha
The space of water, wind, flowers, and stars — mom loved it too
A never-ending space, a way of encountering nature
A space that sensuously shows images of water, wind, flowers, and stars — utterly radiant.
My mom said it was so pretty and looked really satisfied haha

Getting to look at old-fashioned bags like this was surprising and pretty too — it reminded me a bit of Black Rubber Shoes (the old Korean cartoon).
A Jeju indoor course with no weather worries
Starting from a mysterious idea that all the colors of the world were being pulled through an unidentified door, you pass through the achromatic 'Nohyeong Café' and 'Nohyeong Grocery Store,' and the moment you open the forgotten door, a world of immersive media art bursting with vivid light and color unfolds before your eyes — such a meaningful experience 🤍
This isn't just an exhibition hall — it's an immersive art space that feels like walking through a story, a real highlight of any Jeju trip.
A perfect indoor space to enjoy without worrying about the forecast — even during a sudden Jeju downpour or the rainy season, Nohyeong Supermarket shines even brighter, which made it all the more dazzling. It's also super accessible near Jeju Airport, so I'd definitely recommend everyone pay Nohyeong Supermarket a visit!
