Jeju Jocheon-eup noodle restaurant with free baby noodles: Myeonjumak

Today I'm sharing my visit to Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch, a Jeju pork noodle soup spot near Eco Land. It happened to be the day we were switching hotels, so on our way toward Seongsan we stopped at Achimmiso Ranch in the morning and let our kid run around the grass and watch the cows and calves. All that playing worked up an appetite.

When you're in Jeju you have to have a good bowl of pork noodle soup, right? So we headed to Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch, a place that's easy to visit with a kid.

Where is Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch, and how close is Eco Land?

Myeonjumak, a Jeju pork noodle soup favorite, is on Beonyeong-ro in Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si. It's a quick drive from Achimmiso Ranch and close to Eco Land and the Saryeoni Forest Path, so it fit nicely into our route.

They said it's about 3 minutes from Jeju Stone Park and 20 minutes from Hamdeok Beach. The parking lot is huge — over 100 spaces — so there was zero parking stress even in our rental car. Easy enough for a beginner driver to park comfortably.

Stroller access, high chairs and the 9 free extras inside Myeonjumak

Walking in, the space was spacious and clean. No stress bringing a stroller in, and they had a baby chair ready for us. Little touches like that mean a lot when you're traveling with a kid.

They had radish tea, hair ties, disposable aprons, kids' spoons and forks, and even a microwave for baby food. I was honestly touched — 9 different customer amenities in total. The owner apparently has a professional organizing certification too, and the place was so clean it felt great just sitting down.

Baby noodles are free for children under 36 months

For children under 36 months, they make a separate bowl of baby noodles for free. The staff member let us add chili powder or pepper as we liked, and told us we just needed to ask when ordering to get the baby noodles. The broth is simmered from 40kg of beef bones for over 24 hours, so it had real depth.

How does the black pork noodle soup at Myeonjumak taste?

It took about 5 minutes for the noodles to arrive, and the milky broth passed the visual test right away. Thanks to the long-simmered bones, it had no gamey smell at all — deep, savory, and still clean.

It wasn't heavy at all, so I kept scooping up spoonfuls of broth. The noodles were chewy with good bounce, easy to slurp down, and the black pork toppings were piled on generously so every bite had good meaty texture.

A little chili powder and pepper from the table made it suit my taste even better. And our kid slurping down the baby noodles so happily made me proud.

Dombe pork is a must-eat when you're in Jeju. It's 100% Jeju black pork, and the texture was both chewy and tender.

The ratio of lean meat to fat was just right, so it wasn't greasy at all. The more you chew, the more savory it gets. Dipped in ssamjang (soybean dipping sauce), it just melted in the mouth. It was even better eaten with kimchi or diced radish kimchi.

Even the half order came with a generous amount, so we could go back and forth between it and the noodles. Our kid and my husband both enjoyed it, saying it was tender.

Final verdict: Myeonjumak for a meal with a child in eastern Jeju

Myeonjumak, a Jeju pork noodle soup favorite, was a restaurant that felt easy from a parent's point of view. The food nailed the basics, the space was spacious and clean, and the thoughtfulness toward kids was great.

They're open from 9 AM to 3 PM, so it's best to plan around breakfast or lunch. If you want a solid meal while crossing eastern Jeju, drop by. Our family left with full bellies and headed off happily toward Seongsan 😊
