Anseong Gongdo brunch café with kids: basil cream gnocchi, Chat Baker

Last weekend, I went to Chat Baker, a brunch café in Gongdo, Anseong, with my kids. This wasn't actually my first visit — I'd come here with friends a while back, and with its spacious layout and floor seating plus plenty for kids to look at, I thought, this would be great to bring the kids to! So this time I came back with Hajji and Sojji. Since you can enjoy bread and brunch together, and there's plenty of room to hang out with kids, it was a solid spot for a weekend family outing.

What kind of café is Chat Baker?

Chat Baker is a brunch & bakery café located in Gongdo, Anseong. It's run across two floors totaling about 500 pyeong, so even before stepping in, it felt like a fairly large café. Since it's relatively close to Anseong Farm Land and Starfield Anseong, it's a great stop to pair with a family outing if you're already planning one.

And parking — something that quietly matters a lot when moving around with kids! Chat Baker has plenty of parking space, so we could walk in without any stress from the start.

What my kids spotted the moment we walked into Chat Baker

As we walked through the entrance, Hajji suddenly pointed up and said, Mom, what's that? hahaha. To kids' eyes, even small details like this become something to look at.

And on the floor, a logo that looked like an LP! True to its name, Chat Baker has a concept of a space where music and bread coexist, and you can spot music- and LP-themed interior touches throughout.

Bread and brunch under one roof

We also checked out the menu board. Chat Baker isn't just a bakery café for bread and coffee — it also has pasta and brunch options, making it a good place to visit for an actual family meal.

Once inside, it's much bigger than expected. The tables aren't all one type either — there's a variety of seating arrangements that can fit different group sizes.

And of course, true to a bakery café, one side is packed with all kinds of bread! There were samples to try, too, so it was fun browsing with the kids to decide which bread to pick.

Why Chat Baker works with kids: space and room to move

What I especially liked about Chat Baker is that each area has a slightly different mood. There's a plant-filled interior with what looks like trees hanging from the ceiling, and combined with the high ceilings, the space felt even more open.

Before heading out to the outdoor tables, there was also a unique interior feature by the window that looked like flowing water. Kids never just walk past something like that, haha.

On a nice day, it would be great to relax at the outdoor tables.

The second floor: floor seating and a different mood

Right as you get to the second floor, there's a self-bar with water and an oven toaster you can use to warm up your bread.

The second floor also has a variety of table types, so it was easy to pick whichever seat we wanted.

On one side, LPs are on display.

In front of the piano, there's a huge LP-shaped rug on the floor — music lovers would probably find this corner fun to check out.

And the biggest reason I felt this place was good to visit with kids! It's the floor seating area on the second floor. When you go to a café with kids, floor seating is sometimes much more comfortable than sitting in chairs. Chat Baker has a spacious floor seating area, which makes it a solid option for families with kids too.

You order using the QR code on the table. Since you can check the menu right at your seat, it was easy to settle in with the kids first and then order.

Our brunch at Chat Baker: cream panné pasta and basil cream gnocchi

This time, we ordered cream panné pasta, basil cream gnocchi, and pineapple juice with the kids.

This basil cream gnocchi is the dish I enjoyed on my previous visit with friends! So this time I ordered it again without a second thought, haha. When you order a dish again with the kids after already having enjoyed it once, that pretty much makes it my go-to repeat order at Chat Baker.

The cream panné pasta has cream pasta stuffed inside a bread bowl, so it looked great to eat with kids from the start. Since you can enjoy bread and pasta together, it was also a hearty choice as a brunch dish.

And last but not least, Sojji's eating show. Whenever we come to a café, the adults look around the space while the kids, once handed a piece of bread, quietly settle into their own little world, haha.
