Spicy blood sausage soup for three near Seonyudo Station: Deundeun
In short
Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo Station Branch is a sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup with rice) restaurant less than a 5-minute walk from Exit 5 of Seonyudo Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. On a weekend evening, three of us ordered two spicy sundae gukbap and one regular sundae gukbap, added chives and deulcho sauce from the self-bar, and received unlimited blood sausage because the cypress steamer for the steamed sundae was out of order. The broth at Deundeun Haejanggukbap was spicy and deep, the kind of gukbap worth coming back for.

Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo Point

Hi neighbors, it's Jju the restaurant lover. I usually cut back on carbs so I don't eat rice much, but every once in a while, when I'm completely out of energy, I really need a hearty meal. Gukbap (Korean soup with rice) is the easiest thing to reach for at times like that, and last weekend I was craving sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup) for dinner, so I went hunting for a good one. Even though it just opened recently, this place was already packed — and not only is the sundae gukbap delicious, you can also enjoy unlimited cypress-steamed sundae. Let me introduce you to this Seonyudo Station restaurant, Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo Branch!

Where is Deundeun Haejanggukbap? A 5-minute walk from Seonyudo Station Exit 5
Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo Branch is a newly opened gukbap restaurant near Seonyudo Station, and it's less than a 5-minute walk from Exit 5, which makes it a really convenient spot to reach by public transit!

Parking: Yangpyeong 2-ga public lot at 3,000 won per hour
Unfortunately Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo Branch doesn't have its own parking, so if you're driving, it's best to park at a nearby public lot! I parked at the Yangpyeong 2-ga public parking lot and paid ₩3,000 for an hour. The parking fee wasn't too pricey, so I parked comfortably and headed in for a delicious meal.

As I walked in, smoke was gently rising from a cauldron out front. You could really tell the owner paid attention even to the exterior. Now let's head inside!

Inside Deundeun Haejanggukbap: wide tables, self-bar and aprons
The interior of Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo Branch was very clean and the tables were well set up. The tables were spacious too, so there were plenty of families dining together, and it seemed like the kind of place that would draw a lot of nearby office workers for weekday lunches and dinners.

There were aprons neatly hung on the wall, so it was easy to grab one and use it comfortably.

There was also a self-bar set up, so it was easy to grab as much of any side dish you needed!

On the table, perilla powder, salt, gochujang (Korean chili paste), and other extras for the gukbap were all well prepared!

Ordering for three: two spicy sundae gukbap and one regular
Every table at Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo Branch has a tablet, so it was easy to browse photos and pick a menu comfortably. There were three of us, so we ordered two spicy sundae gukbap and one regular sundae gukbap.

Unlimited cypress-steamed sundae, served as plain sundae that day
At Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo Branch you can also get unlimited cypress-steamed sundae, but on the day I went, the steaming machine had broken down, so it was replaced with regular sundae instead. Normally the cypress-steamed sundae is available too!

I heard the sundae tastes great dipped in deulcho sauce, so I made some and tried it — oh? Sweet and tangy, with a nutty note from the sesame oil. So delicious!

The basic side dishes and sundae arrived together~! A few basic sides come out automatically.

How does the spicy sundae gukbap taste? Deep broth, well-seasoned sundae
Both the spicy sundae gukbap and regular sundae gukbap arrived. Doesn't the spicy sundae gukbap look amazing? This is the kind of dish that's supposed to cure a hangover but ends up making you want to drink again...

The sundae and meat inside were really generous, and the broth was so spicy and rich that even the sundae itself was seasoned through — I ate it so happily!

I piled in a heap of chives from the self-bar and mixed rice right into the spicy sundae gukbap. Honestly, the broth is so good on its own that whether you just sip it plain, fish out the chunks, or mix in rice, it's all delicious. Completely, totally satisfied! I think I'll come back here every time I'm craving gukbap haha.

Today I wrote up my review of a delicious meal at Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo Branch, my go-to Seonyudo Station gukbap restaurant. Both the owner and the staff at Deundeun Haejanggukbap were super kind, and since the cypress-steamed sundae is free, you can enjoy it even more! If you love gukbap too, go get some good, hearty nourishment at Deundeun Haejanggukbap!
