I like charcoal-grilled dakgalbi even more than the pan-fried kind, so this time I visited a Blue Ribbon-listed charcoal dakgalbi and cheese fondue spot near Nami Island — "Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi"!! I really love dakgalbi (marinated grilled chicken) that's grilled tableside — savory and juicy at the same time.

Inside Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi: dining room and waiting area
The inside of Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi is huge, but it was completely full! Proof it's a real hit, haha. There are baby chairs ready too, so it seems like a great spot for families~~

The waiting area is spacious too, decorated like an art gallery, which I loved~~ You can also register for the wait through Table-ing!

Can you bring a dog, and is parking free?
Anbanji Dakgalbi allows pets (small dogs under 10kg), and parking is free for 6 hours!!! You know how tough parking is at Nami Island, right? Eat here, then walk around Nami Island — it's the perfect plan, haha.

The dakgalbi is apparently 100% domestic chicken thigh meat!! Chicken thigh is the fundamentals.

They also run a Naver Place receipt review event with a random draw, and you can win dakgalbi, mak guksu, chicken fried rice, cheese fondue, drinks, and more~~ Everything except 5th prize is great, haha.
Side dishes and the self-serve dongchimi bar
The side dishes at Anbanji Dakgalbi include garlic scape/garlic pickles, seasoned bean sprouts, lettuce, naengmyeon radish shreds, and pickled cabbage!

But there's dongchimi (radish water kimchi) at the self-serve bar, you know? You absolutely have to try it, it's seriously the best!!!! (I totally refilled it a bunch of times, haha.) Also amazing as a hangover cure, haha.

How is the salt-grilled dakgalbi with cheese fondue?
I ordered 2 servings of salt-grilled and 2 of marinated. Start with the salt-grilled first! You need to flip the dakgalbi often~~

Glossy, juicy, golden-brown dakgalbi ㅠㅠㅠ Doesn't it look tender just from looking at it?!! Not a hint of gamey smell — savory and delicious!!!!!
You absolutely have to order the cheese fondue too,,,,, the combo of the plain, tender dakgalbi with salty, stretchy cheese is insane!!

Buckwheat mak guksu and the marinated dakgalbi
Can't skip the mak guksu~~ It's the mixed (bibim) version, and the sauce was so good I inhaled it, haha. You know mak guksu is a must with dakgalbi, right?!

And the marinated dakgalbi, need I say more!!!! The meat is tender and plump, and the savory sauce soaks all the way through, giving it a spicy yet clean flavor~~

With the charcoal smokiness added on top, ooh, it's so good. The sauce's savory depth is great great.
Counter snacks and the cash payment discount

At the counter there's traditional Korean sweets, nurungji (scorched rice) chips, ppeongtwigi (puffed rice snacks), pine nut yeot (taffy), and even marble ice cream, haha! Watch out for your wallet with that marble ice cream,,

*As a special August discount, paying in cash or by bank transfer gets you 5% off!!!!! (Wonder if they'll keep it up in September..? haha)
Tender, juicy dakgalbi full of charcoal aroma + cheese fondue that stretches so nicely + savory mak guksu to top it off! Definitely stop by before heading to Nami Island
