Peach milk cake at Cafe Imchori, a dessert café in Gapyeong
In short
Cafe Imchori is a dessert café on Cheonggun-ro in Sangmyeon, Gapyeong, near the Garden of Morning Calm. Over an iced americano and iced and hot café lattes, I tried Cafe Imchori's peach milk cake and salted chocolate financier, and liked that the desserts are made in-house with real dairy cream. While traveling around Gapyeong, I was looking for a place to enjoy good dessert with good coffee, and that's how I ended up at Cafe Imchori~!

Where is Cafe Imchori in Gapyeong?
Cafe Imchori is a dessert café on the 1st floor of 701 Cheonggun-ro, Sangmyeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. It's close to the Garden of Morning Calm, so it's a great stop to pair with a garden visit or a Gapyeong trip. They serve coffee menu items like americano and latte alongside a variety of cakes and baked goods made in-house.

The motorbike on display inside Cafe Imchori
From the entrance, the vibe felt a bit different from a typical café — there was a cool bike on display inside, and it was really striking. The actual bike sat stylishly within the café space, making for a great photo spot, and it surprisingly matched the café's overall mood well. If you like bikes, it'll probably catch your eye the moment you walk in.

Cafe Imchori's interior and parking
Overall, Cafe Imchori had a clean, comfortable feel. It's a nice place to relax with coffee and dessert, and the tables were spaced generously, making it a good spot to rest during a Gapyeong trip. I also liked that parking was available right in front of the store, which made it easy to visit by car.

Can you bring a dog to Cafe Imchori?
One more thing I was glad to see is that Cafe Imchori is a dog-friendly café in Gapyeong. There's separate guidance for visiting with pets, and rules such as vaccination checks and using a leash or a carrier were posted for use of the space. Worth noting if you're planning a Gapyeong trip with your pet.

What desserts does Cafe Imchori make?
What I especially liked about Cafe Imchori was that the desserts are made in-house! They sell a variety of desserts including cakes, financiers, and canelés, and maybe because they're made in-house, each one had its own personality.

At the time, they had peach cream cake, lemon milk cake, and other slice cakes and financiers on display. They said the dessert lineup can change depending on the season.

Most of all, I liked that all the desserts use real dairy whipped cream.

These days I really care about the taste of the cream when choosing a cake, so knowing they use real dairy cream made me even more excited.

The three coffees we ordered
What I ordered was an iced americano, an iced café latte, a hot café latte, and for dessert, peach cream cake and a salted chocolate financier.

First, the iced americano was clean and easy to drink. It cleanly cut through the sweetness when paired with dessert, so it went well with the cake, and having a cold cup felt like it washed away some of the fatigue from traveling around Gapyeong.

The iced café latte had a nice balance of smooth milk and slightly bitter coffee flavor. I personally love the combo of cake and latte, and sure enough, the smooth latte went great with the sweet dessert.

The hot café latte had a different kind of charm. It was nice to sip slowly while enjoying dessert, and the warm, nutty milk flavor made it comfortable to drink.

What does the peach milk cake taste like?
And the one I was most looking forward to that day — the peach cream cake! Even the look of it was gorgeous. Between the soft cake layers, the pure milk cream and peaches came together beautifully, so one bite felt moist yet soft. The peach's sweet, subtle aroma paired well with the mild flavor of the milk cream, so it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and I kept going back for more.

In fact, Cafe Imchori's peach cream cake is introduced as a popular menu item, making it one of their signature desserts.

The salted chocolate financier
The salted chocolate financier also went really well with coffee.

The outside felt lightly toasted while the inside was moist and chewy, and the deep sweetness of the chocolate was balanced by a subtle saltiness, so the sweetness didn't feel one-sided. A sip of americano followed by a bite of the financier — that combo was just right.

Why Cafe Imchori fits a Garden of Morning Calm day trip
Overall, Cafe Imchori left an impression as more than just a place to drink coffee — I got to enjoy in-house desserts, the atmosphere, and even a unique bike all together.

If you're looking for a dessert café near the Garden of Morning Calm, it's a great place to stop by before or after your garden visit for a sweet break, and if you love good cakes and baked goods, I'd recommend it as a dessert café in Gapyeong.

If you're looking for a pretty café in Gapyeong while also wanting to properly enjoy delicious desserts, make sure to try a cup of coffee together with a dessert at Cafe Imchori.

I enjoyed the peach cream cake and salted chocolate financier so much that this is a café I'd love to stop by again if I ever go back to Gapyeong.
