Kimchi kalguksu (noodle soup) comes as a complimentary side dish, and when you want a bit of spice against the soft jokbal, eating it alongside the noodles makes a great combo! The kimchi kalguksu was so good I wanted to order more.

Have you ever seen a place give you kalguksu as a free side dish? 🩶 The kimchi kalguksu had a charm to it — its warm broth kept the meal flowing naturally.

My order of Emperor's Jokbal (₩58,000) arrived — wow, isn't the presentation overwhelming right off the bat? With such a pretty, varied spread and delicious taste to match, no wonder tourists can't stay away. Because I fell for it the moment I took my first bite too..... 🩶

How did the Emperor's Jokbal taste?

Jokbal boiled fresh every day

The jokbal at Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is "boiled fresh each day and served the same day," prepared in batches at least 3 to as many as 5 times a day, so apparently the taste and texture stay consistent no matter when you visit!

You can just tell it's tender and chewy at a glance! There's no gamey smell at all in the jokbal, and the meat is so soft it seems like a taste anyone would love, regardless of age!

The bossam kimchi in particular was truly a work of art — the kimchi's flavor matters so much with jokbal, and this one was crisp and well-seasoned, a perfect match with the jokbal haha.

All the wrap vegetables and side dishes were fresh and perfectly seasoned, with generous portions and a great overall spread that made me want to come back.
