A warm weekend trip to Yeoju! First up is my strongly recommended review of Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap, a Yeoju restaurant famous for its amazing rice. Yeoju means 'rice,' right?!! This is the place to eat the tastiest Yeoju rice, so be sure to stop by if you're traveling to Yeoju~~

Where is Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap, and what are its hours?
Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap is a rice-set Korean restaurant at 488-9 Sejong-ro, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do, and its signature dish is a full table set made with rice and seasonal vegetables the owners grow themselves. Hours are 11:00–20:30 on weekdays and 10:30–20:00 on weekends, closed every Wednesday. Parking is available, and group reservations are possible.
I visited Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap as soon as I got to Yeoju. I've been feeling run down with a cold lately and wanted something like a tonic in food form, and this place was perfect for that!! It's close to Yeoju IC and also close to Yeoju Premium Outlets, so the location is great too~~

Is there really no wait if you arrive at opening on Saturday?
Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap is such a well-known spot that there can be a wait during peak hours!! I arrived for a Saturday opening run and luckily got in without any wait haha. Once lunchtime hit, customers kept streaming in, which confirmed this really is a Yeoju favorite!!

There's also a waiting room off to the side, so even if there is a wait you can sit comfortably. Such a thoughtful touch 👍👍
Parking and seating at Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap
There's a big parking lot right in front, so it's easy to come by car. If it's full, there's a spacious lot in the back too, so it's perfect for group visits without worrying about parking!
Walking inside, the open feel with big windows and roomy seating stands out. The tables are spaced generously, so you can chat comfortably.
There are also plenty of room-style seats like this, which are great for family gatherings or group meetups. Reserve ahead and drop by comfortably><

Baby chairs are well provided too, so little guests can enjoy delicious rice as well!!
Menu and prices: what does a rice set cost?

Now let me show you the menu. The main offering is a neatly arranged rice set. Just pick a main dish and everything else — pre-meal appetizers, pork stir-fry, and doenjang stew — comes standard. It's an incredibly generous spread, and at a price in the low ₩20,000s, the value is great too!

They're also running a review event where you can get Yeoju jinsangmi (premium local rice), so be sure to take part><

Look at this table décor?! I love this kind of old-school vibe so much.
Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap uses rice and vegetables that the owners actually grow themselves!! Just seeing that tells you how fresh and delicious it's going to be!! A restaurant you can really trust.
What comes with the braised cutlassfish set for two
The dish I ordered that day at Nadeulmok Yeoju Ssalbap was the braised cutlassfish set for two. Since pork stir-fry comes standard with the meal, ordering cutlassfish meant I could enjoy both fish and meat together, so that's what I chose.

Ta-da~ the pre-meal dishes come out right after ordering. Fresh salad, mung bean jelly, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), and fried eggplant appear! Generous portions and everything looks so appetizing.
The jelly with savory seaweed flakes and vegetables! Chewy and savory, it was so tasty.

This fried eggplant, which is also sold as an add-on, comes one per set. Fried eggplant stuffed with meat...?! Need I say more?! Crispy outside, moist inside — absolutely delicious~~~ Keep in mind you can also order extra!

Ta-da~ now the main event, braised cutlassfish, arrives along with a variety of side dishes. A table full of a truly delicious meal.
Every dish was neat and the portions were generous. Enjoy it vividly through the video too><
Pork stir-fry and doenjang stew come standard along with the set. Isn't that such a great deal?!!!

How was the stone-pot rice and scorched rice tea?
Since Yeoju is famous for its amazing rice, I was most curious about this stone-pot rice, and it really was incredible!!!

Maybe because it's rice they grow themselves, it was so sticky and glossy. New-crop rice grown in Yeoju's rich soil and clean water — sticky, savory, and outstanding! I ate the rice plain with nothing else and it was seriously sweet and honey-like. They say rice is medicine, and it's no lie!
I scooped some rice out separately and poured in water to prepare scorched rice tea!

Braised cutlassfish: portion size and flavor
Now time to enjoy the main dish~~ braised cutlassfish with rich, deep sauce is outstanding. They gave four generous pieces of precious cutlassfish, so the portion was huge and just the best><

There wasn't a hint of fishiness, and the flesh was so soft it was easy to pick off the bone. The sauce was spicy enough to make me go 'whew-whew' as I ate, but it was addictively delicious. Mixing the sauce into the rice made it pure bliss!

The pork stir-fry and doenjang stew that come with every set
Next is the pork stir-fry. Need I even describe it?! A stone-pot rice set without pork stir-fry would feel incomplete, so I loved that it came standard.

Eating it over new-crop rice, the meat's flavor really shines. This one wasn't spicy at all — the gochujang (red chili paste) seasoning was sweet and great! Kids would probably eat it well too haha.

The doenjang stew served alongside had a really deep soybean paste flavor — savory and just delicious~~

All the seasoned vegetable and herb side dishes were made with such care, tasting purely healthy. Every one of them went great with the new-crop rice><. It felt like enjoying a grandmother's home-cooked table?! The side dishes were so clean and delicious that even people who dislike vegetables could enjoy them~~

Even after eating until totally full, I couldn't resist the final scorched rice and scorched rice tea! Since the rice itself is so good, this scorched rice was also rich and savory. Finish your meal on a refreshing note! And that's how I thoroughly enjoyed a generous, neat full-table meal. If you're looking for a healthy, delicious, and hearty Yeoju rice set, be sure to visit!
