A dessert café discovered near Sinnonhyeon Station
The day I was meeting a high-school friend and my boyfriend in Gangnam! We wanted to eat something delicious and go to a café too, but there are just so many cafés near Sinnonhyeon Station that I spent ages wondering where to go haha. Then I found this cozy-looking café whose desserts looked so good! The moment I saw the photos, I completely fell for how the desserts looked and really wanted to visit. So the three of us headed straight to Something About Coffee, a café near Sinnonhyeon Station!

You can find Something About Coffee easily by walking straight from Exit 6 of Sinnonhyeon Station, then turning into the alley behind CGV! From its white exterior to the stylish plants, it was such a pretty café that I kept admiring it from outside haha.

Even the sign was so tiny and cute haha. My friend had already arrived and was saving us a seat, so my boyfriend and I hurried right in!

Seating across three floors, plus a terrace
We visited at around 3:30 p.m. on a Sunday, and the café was already full! The interior was not only so stylish and pretty; with great coffee and desserts too, it felt like the kind of place lots of people would seek out.

We went up to the second floor where our friend was. From the second floor, there is an outdoor terrace as well as various table seats arranged around a chandelier. The weather was pleasantly cool, so I wanted to sit on the terrace, but there were no seats left, so we couldn't haha ㅠㅠ When it gets a little cooler next time, I definitely want to enjoy coffee on the terrace!

Since the café is quite spacious across all three floors, there were plenty of options. The first floor seemed best for getting around easily, the second floor was closest to the counter, and I think the third floor would be nice for anyone wanting a quieter space.

Ordering peach cheesecake and Earl Grey pound cake
After leaving our things at the table, we came down to order drinks and desserts, and there were so many choices, from beverages to coffee, that it was hard to decide. We were craving sweet desserts, so we picked an iced Americano and a matcha cold brew to balance out the sweetness!

There were so many kinds of cake too. I debated between blueberry cheesecake and peach cheesecake for ages, then chose the peach cheesecake because I liked its look a little more! As someone who really loves desserts, the display was honestly making my head spin ㅜㅜ It was full of adorable, tempting desserts. Plus, every dessert menu item was neatly covered with a lid, which made me really happy from a hygiene standpoint too.

There were lots of desserts, but the Earl Grey pound cake and lemon pound cake caught my eye the most! I said I wanted the lemon pound cake, while my boyfriend wanted the Earl Grey, so we went back and forth for a while. Since the cake was tangy, we chose the Earl Grey pound cake haha.

We sat by the window, with soft sunlight coming in, adorable little desserts, and stylish drinks! Something About Coffee was already healing just from the visuals alone haha.

Clean coffee that paired beautifully with dessert
We added an extra shot to the Americano, but even so, it was clean without any harsh, stale taste, making it really nice with dessert. The nutty aroma of the beans and sweet desserts were an unbeatable combination!
The matcha cold brew we ordered was also very clean. The matcha leaned more sweet matcha than bitter matcha, and the sweet matcha cream paired so well with the cold brew's smooth finish. The regular coffee beans weren't harsh at all either, though the cold brew was definitely a little cleaner and smoother haha.

Peach cheesecake that tasted even better than it looked
And then, the peach cheesecake I had been looking forward to most! I chose it because it looked pretty, but I was worried, what if it doesn't taste good? ㅜ But it tasted even better than it looked!

It was piled with sweet, juicy flat peaches, with moist cake layers and creamy cheese haha. It was a truly perfect slice of cake, with nothing missing. The cream especially wasn't rich in a way that became cloying quickly; it felt fresh and bright, so it paired wonderfully with the sweet-tart peaches. Even people who don't usually eat cake because of its richness could enjoy this peach cheesecake without feeling burdened by it.

The Earl Grey pound cake that surprised me in one bite
And then there was the Earl Grey pound cake that genuinely surprised me... I usually like both Earl Grey and pound cake on their own, but Earl Grey pound cake isn't something I go out of my way to find. So I was a little skeptical of the Earl Grey pound cake, which was my boyfriend's pick, but the fragrance surprised me the moment I took a bite. As you enjoy the pound cake's moist yet dense texture, a gentle Earl Grey aroma rises at the end, and I loved that.

If the peach cheesecake's charm was its sweet-tart freshness, the Earl Grey pound cake's charm was its deep, fragrant character! The pound cake itself was already so good, but adding Earl Grey cream felt like an absolute stroke of genius haha.

Having delicious drinks and desserts together made for such a healing time. On top of that, the café's interior itself was so antique and pretty that it felt like a space I would want to revisit haha.
I had such a healing time, eating delicious desserts and chatting leisurely with my friend and boyfriend haha. From the peach cheesecake I had been looking forward to, to the Earl Grey pound cake that was even tastier than expected! I was really happy with the coffee too, but the desserts were especially satisfying. The atmosphere was stylish and pretty as well, so next time I want to sit on the terrace and enjoy a relaxed cup of coffee with the cool breeze haha. I recommend Something About Coffee to anyone looking for a dessert gem among cafés near Sinnonhyeon Station, or a café full of atmosphere near Gangnam Station!
