I had a lunch appointment in Euljiro today, so I looked for somewhere I could eat a little more leisurely and ended up at Hotel Kukdo Patio! When you hear 'hotel buffet,' the price tag can feel a bit intimidating, but Hotel Kukdo Patio's weekday lunch is 29,800 won per person and includes both the Asian buffet and a main dish — way more reasonable than I expected?!

After actually going, the food quality was high and the interior atmosphere was great too, so it felt like really good value overall.

It's close to Euljiro 4-ga Station, so it was convenient to get there by public transport!

Overall it had that clean, calm hotel restaurant feel! The spacing between tables was generous, and with the big windows, it never felt cramped — bright and open. It seemed like a great place to visit on a day when you want to have lunch quietly, without a super crowded buffet vibe.

The table we were shown to was right in front of the big window, so I got to zone out and heal a bit looking outside, and the bright atmosphere kept my mood up through the whole meal.

Weekday lunch at Hotel Kukdo Patio: Asian buffet plus one main

For the main, you can choose between skirt steak or the chef's special pasta! I went with the skirt steak :)

And right now they're offering unlimited sake! You pour it into your own sake cup and drink as much as you like. They had 'Sen,' which has a clean, fresh flavor.

There was also a fish cake and udon noodle station, and I thought that hot broth with the sake would be the perfect combo...?!

An Asian buffet that's easier for not having too many dishes

The buffet itself isn't as huge as a massive deluxe hotel spread. Instead, in keeping with its Asian food concept, it had a well-curated selection focused on Korean, Japanese, and other Asian dishes that are easy to eat. You could really tell they paid attention to the quality of each individual dish... 💘

Stir-fried abalone and shrimp, snailfish, grilled eel, buta kakuni (braised pork belly), futomaki, and more... 💘 So full of Asian dishes you can't help but love that your plate fills up fast! Some buffets have so many options they can't keep the quality up, but here you can really tell every dish got attention.

Starting light with the mushroom salad 🥗

First plate, of course, starts with salad and light dishes! I filled my first plate with a fresh vegetable salad and a mushroom salad, and that mushroom salad was really tasty!

Asian dishes that suited my taste perfectly... grilled eel, stir-fried abalone and shrimp, and more — if you like seafood, these are dishes you'll keep reaching for!

You could taste a few dishes that are hard to find at typical budget lunch buffets. The food quality was high and the interior felt calm and upscale, so it seemed like a popular spot for lunch team gatherings too! Actually, while we were eating, I saw a few tables next to us that were clearly out for a work lunch haha.

That eel was so, so good. I went back for more a few times... 💘

The skirt steak main 🥩

The skirt steak I chose as my main! Separate from the dishes you serve yourself from the buffet, the steak comes out as a main course on its own individual plate.

Eating the buffet food and then having a plate of steak come out in the middle really made it feel like a proper full meal?! You could taste the clean, distinct flavor of the skirt steak, different from the stir-fries or fried dishes at the buffet, and it worked really well as a mid-meal main.

I was really satisfied with the doneness and juiciness too — finished every bite 👍🏻

Desserts and a coffee machine latte to finish

Finally wrapped up the meal with grapefruit, orange, and tteok (rice cake)!

There was also a coffee machine, so I made myself a latte — the foam came up nicely, so the quality was pretty good haha

I wasn't planning on drinking, but I got curious and had a glass of sake — it really had a clean, crisp feel. It'd be amazing with udon or fish cakes ㅜㅜ

Is Hotel Kukdo Patio worth it for a work lunch under 30,000 won? 👍🏻

Overall, Hotel Kukdo Patio felt less like a massive buffet with an overwhelming number of menu items and more like a well-put-together lunch: a moderately sized Asian buffet plus an individual main dish added on top! Being able to freely enjoy the Asian buffet for 29,800 won and also choose a main between skirt steak and pasta was a clear advantage 🥩 And on top of that, being able to enjoy lunch in a hotel restaurant atmosphere that felt a bit more relaxed than a regular restaurant was great too.

If you're looking for a place in Euljiro to eat with your parents, a relaxed spot with friends, or a place for a work lunch gathering that doesn't feel too pricey, I highly recommend Hotel Kukdo as a hotel lunch option hahaha. Getting to eat buffet food, then steak, and finish it off with coffee all in one seating made it a more filling and satisfying lunch than I expected :)
