Hapjeong Korean BBQ after-work meal with bibim naengmyeon: Jeongyukdo

In short

Jeongyukdo is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Mapo, Seoul, a 3-minute walk from Hapjeong Station Exit 5, with an indoor hall and outdoor patio seats (yajang). Two diners stopped in after work for the 49,000-won Korean pork set and added kimchi fried rice, naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) and hangover ramen, and the high-heat grilled meat and thin-noodle naengmyeon were the standouts. The Jeongyukdo patio fills up on nice evenings, so a Naver reservation is worth making.

First glimpse of Jeongyukdo, a Korean BBQ restaurant near Hapjeong Station

While hunting for a good Korean BBQ spot near Hapjeong, I found Jeongyukdo (정육도) — close enough to the station that it's an easy after-work meetup spot, and pretty close to home too. Let's go 🐽 I headed straight to Hapjeong the moment I clocked out.

View of Jeongyukdo's building on a cool evening

With the evenings cooling down lately, I loved that you can even eat BBQ out on the patio here.

Where is Jeongyukdo near Hapjeong Station, and what are its hours?

Jeongyukdo is on the 2nd floor at 14 Yanghwa-ro 6-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, just a 3-minute walk from Exit 5 of Hapjeong Station (Lines 2 and 6). It's open daily from 11:30 to 23:00, with last order at 21:30.

This Hapjeong BBQ restaurant has both indoor seating and an outdoor patio (yajang), so on a nice day you can really soak up that patio atmosphere.

Jeongyukdo's outdoor patio tables

There's just something about a patio at a BBQ place that feels extra nice, and on an autumn evening like this it's especially tempting — but I got seated indoors since I was worried about mosquito bites 🙄

Jeongyukdo's location near Hapjeong Station makes it look great for group gatherings, company dinners, or just catching up over meat — also a solid pick for an after-work meetup. I came straight from work without a reservation, and on my way out I noticed the patio seats were, as expected, popular on a night with good weather.

Popular patio seating on a nice-weather evening

If you want to eat on the patio, I'd recommend booking through Naver Reservations beforehand. Next time I go back, I think I'll reserve the patio seats first. Being close to Hapjeong Station and having a patio option gives it a real reason to seek out on a cool evening.

What comes in Jeongyukdo's 49,000-won Korean pork set for two?

After sitting down, we checked the menu and ordered the Korean pork set for ₩49,000. On top of that: kimchi fried rice ₩8,000, naengmyeon ₩6,000, and hangover ramen ₩6,000. We decided to go all in with both the meat and the meal dishes.

A plate of meat from the Korean pork set

The meat finally arrived. The Korean pork set lets you try several cuts at once, so it worked out well for two people.

The pork set includes fresh short rib 200g, pork belly 150g, pork neck 150g, and hanwoo (Korean beef) doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) for 2-3 people.

Once the meat hit the grill and started browning up, I remembered — BBQ after work is just the truth lol

The meat had great texture and got more savory the more you chewed it. Best of all, the flame was quite strong, so the outside browned up fast once the meat went on.

Maybe because of the high heat, the meat had a subtle smoky char and still held onto its juices — really tasty.

Grilling order: fresh pork ribs, pork belly, marbled pork neck

We ate fresh short rib first, then pork belly, then pork neck. The short rib came with the bone neatly removed, so it was easy to eat; the pork belly had just the right amount of fat and was nice and savory. The pork neck we grilled last was clean-tasting but still juicy, a good way to wrap things up. Korean pork really is different!

Honestly, meat tastes good pretty much anywhere, but eating comfortably indoors instead of on the patio that day made for an easy, relaxed meal.

Busy atmosphere in Jeongyukdo's indoor hall

Indoor hall or outdoor patio at Jeongyukdo: which seats to pick

The indoor hall was pretty clean overall and had quite a few customers, giving it a lively vibe. Being near Hapjeong Station, it felt like a lot of office workers had come straight from work for BBQ. It's a place better suited to a moderately buzzing atmosphere than a quiet one — good for eating meat comfortably.

Jeongyukdo's patio seats fully booked

I stepped outside for a look at the patio seats, and they were already full ;; On a nice-weather day, it seems like a great spot to enjoy the atmosphere along with your meat. If you're looking for a spot near Hapjeong for a company dinner or group gathering, this could be a solid choice thanks to that patio vibe 👍

Kimchi fried rice at Jeongyukdo

Kimchi fried rice, bibim naengmyeon and hangover ramen to finish

Couldn't stop at just meat, so we ordered the meal dishes one by one too. First up, kimchi fried rice. It always feels like something's missing if you don't get fried rice after BBQ, and this one was quite good — we cleaned the plate.

Thin-noodle bibim naengmyeon

Naengmyeon can't be skipped either, so a bite of bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) as a palate cleanser after the meat hit the spot perfectly.

Personally, I think naengmyeon at a BBQ restaurant isn't optional — it's basically mandatory. And this one was pretty tasty too. The noodles were on the thin side, so they were easy to slurp down without feeling heavy, and my dinner companion declared this a naengmyeon spot the moment they tried it. 👍👍👍

Hangover ramen with bean sprouts and dried pollack

Last up, hangover ramen. Even after meat, fried rice, and naengmyeon, my stomach still had room for ramen — round of applause for me 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

The hangover ramen was loaded with bean sprouts and dried pollack, spicy and refreshing, a satisfying way to finish. The noodles were totally chewy too.

Is Jeongyukdo worth it, and how to reserve the patio seats?

Overall, Jeongyukdo is a place where everything from the meat to the meal dishes was solidly tasty. Best of all, being close to Hapjeong Station made it easy to stop by right after work, and I loved that you can enjoy the patio on nice-weather days. Recommended if you're looking for BBQ near Hapjeong Station or a good-atmosphere patio grill spot 🙋🏻‍♀️

Evening view of Jeongyukdo's patio

I visited without a reservation, but if you're thinking about the patio, I'd recommend booking through Naver Reservations first. Grilling meat on the patio is especially fun on a cool autumn evening, so if you're looking for a BBQ spot near Hapjeong Station, try visiting on a nice-weather day!
