I was craving a proper, clean-tasting Korean set meal for once, so I headed to Naegohyang Jeju (내고향제주) in Bangbae-dong. The 'Hallasan set' turned out to be insanely generous.
Where Naegohyang Jeju is and where to park
Naegohyang Jeju is on B1 at 93 Donggwang-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul, about a 10-minute walk from Exit 7 of Naebang Station. It's open daily 11:30–21:00, with a break time from 15:00–17:00.
There's a parking lot right behind the restaurant and they valet park for you, so getting in was easy! Parking is ₩4,000 for the first 60 minutes, then ₩1,000 for every additional 10 minutes.
Inside Naegohyang Jeju: private rooms and main hall seating

Naegohyang Jeju describes itself as a warm space that sets a table using fresh Jeju-grown greens, Jeju-style fish dishes, and the care of a haenyeo (sea-diving) mother.

I was surprised at how clean and pretty the interior was! With Jeju's signature stone-wall décor and tidy ceramic pieces, the space had an elegant, classically Korean feel.
We used a hall seat, and the tables were spaced generously enough that it felt just as comfortable as a private room. Very satisfying!
Private rooms are available for 2 to 8 people, apparently — they looked perfect for a family gathering or a hosting occasion.
It was an ideal atmosphere for enjoying Korean food 👍🏻

What comes with the 48,000 won Hallasan set

Today's menu
❣️ Hallasan set, ₩48,000 per person (salad, 5 kinds of seasonal sashimi, 3 kinds of seafood, fritters, Jeju silver hairtail grill, braised mackerel with aged kimchi, abalone hot pot rice, 6 side dishes, seafood hot pot)
Since we wanted to go all out, we ordered the 'Hallasan set,' and the lineup that came out was fantastic.

The side dishes and wrapping vegetables were laid out neatly first, and then things just kept on coming…!
Five kinds of seasonal sashimi and three kinds of seafood
The fresh sashimi and seafood grabbed my eye first! From hairtail sashimi to yellowtail, salmon, conch, abalone, and sea squirt, it was a colorful spread.

The sashimi was thick and fresh, really like eating it in Jeju! The hairtail sashimi in particular was my first time trying it — no fishy taste at all, just nutty and delicious, and the abalone and conch were nice and chewy too ❤️

Abalone hot pot rice and the seafood stew pot
The moment I opened the lid on the abalone hot pot rice, a nutty aroma hit me. There was half an abalone to a whole one, generously sized! The rice was so glossy and chewy it would've been delicious on its own.

The seafood hot pot that came alongside was also loaded with abalone! Plus a generous helping of crab and clams, making the broth deep and refreshing. (Pull out the tooth part of the abalone in the hot pot before eating!)
The fritters were sweet potato, crispy, and nice to nibble on between bites.
Braised mackerel with aged kimchi
I unexpectedly fell head over heels for this braised mackerel… The sauce was sweet and spicy in a way that just clung to your mouth, and the mackerel itself was so fresh — the flesh was moist and delicious! The radish soaked in sauce was an absolute rice thief, no joke ㅠ
The highlight: whole grilled Jeju silver hairtail over a flame
Finally, today's highlight made its entrance — the whole grilled hairtail!! It arrived laid out lengthwise, an entire fish on the plate, overwhelming just to look at 👏
They lit a burner underneath the plate, so it stayed piping hot the whole way through.
I pulled off some hairtail flesh and dipped it lightly in salt — wow… I think this might be the plumpest, softest hairtail I've ever had 😭 The moist, nutty flesh just melted away in my mouth.
We finished it all off with a hearty cup of plum tea to wrap things up ✨

Who is Naegohyang Jeju best for?
Beyond the generous spread, you could taste the freshness and care in every single dish — it would be perfect for bringing your parents or hosting guests. If you're looking for a proper, tidy Korean meal in Bangbae-dong to take your parents to, definitely give Naegohyang Jeju a visit ✨
