Seocho group dinner spot with goulash and scallop pasta: Dooblock Isu

Found a great meetup spot near Isu Station today! A stylish space serving delicious pasta and brunch. It's been hard to find good restaurants around Sadang and Isu, so I'm super happy I found this one haha. Let me show you the space, the food, and the service in detail!

Oh, you can see the interior from outside — the space looks really pretty and spacious

Isn't it nicely decorated in an orange and white tone? Plenty of sunlight comes in through the floor-to-ceiling windows and the tables are spaced generously, so it felt really cozy and nice 🥰

There were so many menu items and they all looked delicious so I seriously agonized over it for a while lol. Ugh, I wanted to eat like 10 things, what do I do!!

They seem to have put real effort into the coffee too, so I noted it separately haha. We were going to a café after eating so I just had zero-sugar cider, but next time I'll try that signature drink!

Goulash: how much beef is actually in it?

Dooblock Isu's goulash is a stew packed with whole pieces of beef, potato, onion, carrot, and celery, served with bread and a ladle. This stew is amazing.

Whoa, looks so good

Beef, potato, onion, carrot, celery and more — lots of whole ingredients. Looking at it there seem to be a lot of vegetables, but there's a ton of meat too — the bottom was completely lined with beef lol. There was so much in it I wanted to scoop up more broth +ㅠ+❤️

Cut the big chunks into bite-sized pieces and moved them to my plate

Simmered until both the meat and vegetables were completely tender +ㅠ+ Ugh, it's clean-tasting with a gentle spicy kick, so good. A really solid stew — sautéed vegetables, beef, herbs, all simmered down together, that's the real deal ㅜㅜ so good ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ I love this flavor so much I make it at home sometimes, and whoa the seasoning here was just right, not salty at all!! And the baguette was clean-tasting and soft — perfect for dipping in the goulash!

What style is the margherita dough at Dooblock Isu?

Dooblock Isu's margherita is a Naples-style wood-fired pizza with a very thin, chewy dough. We love pizza, and seeing the menu photo I could tell it was totally Naples-style and would be amazing. Ordered it right away!!

The dough is so thin and chewy!! Dense, chewy, clean-tasting dough baked perfectly in the wood oven — chewy, clean, delicious +ㅠ+ Honestly it was good enough that one person could easily eat a whole pizza, but the portion is big so you'll be stuffed lol

It reminded me of the pizza I had in Naples, hi hi. Highly recommend the pizza — I need to try every kind +ㅅ+

How does the basil cream scallop pasta taste?

The basil cream scallop pasta is a linguine dish topped with big scallops seared golden brown. Basil cream AND scallops?! Ordered immediately

So colorful and golden brown, wow. The scallops are really big and plump. The basil cream isn't strongly basil-flavored, it's subtle 😋 tastes kind of like fresh basil 🌿

Searing the scallops golden and dipping them in the basil cream sauce — savory, fragrant, tender, and delicious +ㅅ+

Whoa, look how thick it is. The linguine is cooked perfectly and the thick, fragrant basil cream sauce clings right onto it. They're using good pasta! +ㅅ+ When you use good pasta the surface is rougher so the sauce soaks in better and tastes even more delicious +ㅅ+

So good +ㅅ+ Now I'm curious how good the other menu items must be, hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi. I'll probably drag my friends here soon. Oh right, my mom often has friend meetups around Sadang — I should recommend this place to her!!
